Eh, people are quick to find anything to complain about.
Two characters have similar moves? Oh my, the world is ending.
Sometimes, I feel the gaming community nowadays spends their time nitpicking games rather than playing them and having fun.
Of course, that doesn't mean that people shouldn't be allowed to make constructive criticism. There's always room for improvement, but I do feel that people often try too hard to find anything bad about something.
For me, something that makes a game objectively bad is when there are issues in regards to something that seriously affects their quality such as faulty programming and bugs, especially those that cause broken gameplay.
I think people often mistake actual lack of quality and not liking a game. It's one thing to not like aspects such as art style, gameplay style/design, the inclusion of certain elements or such things. It's another to undermine the quality and work put into the game just because something doesn't suit one's tastes.
Now, when you have cases where the game is clearly unfinished and lacking in polish, that is a very legitimate complaint. See some Assassin's Creed games, Sonic '06, Sonic Boom or Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash.
I prefer people saying that they don't like Cloud's inclusion in Smash with honesty than just saying things such as "he's not Nintendo enough", "he doesn't deserve to be included" or "he's a rip-off of Ike and Shulk" to make themselves seem right about it and making it a much bigger deal than it actually is.
