If anything this is a heads up for the next few days that if someone claims they data mined the amiibo to find out he was in Smash, it's most likely BS.
Yacht Club has said before that they plan on having the SK amiibo work in most of their future games, so that's likely all the plural use of game means. That, or it means the 3ds and Wii U version seperately since it does different things on each system.
Speaking of Shovel Knight, 3 questions:
How has the physical release been doing?
They said there would be an update with the physical release iirc, is this true?
When does the amiibo come out again?
I don't get when people say Pokemon doesn't have cheatcodes
Deleting saved data is the best cheatcode! It's such a secret on how to do it
I wish I could take screenshots tho...
But for now, I challenge someone in this thread for a RIVAL NUZLOCKE!
Since probably no one in this thread has any idea of how this works, let me explain
Normal Nuzlocke rules apply as usual, but for a rival run, a point system is used and the one with more points at the end, well, wins
Points are won and lost as follow
+1 point for every catch
+3 point for every shiny you catch
+2 points for getting a gym badge
+5 points for defeating the league
-1 point for every death
-1 point for every shiny pokemon you kill
Each gym works as a checkpoint(though the whole Galactic shenanigans before the eighth might count as one too), so you have to wait your rival to reach that point in the game(so one doesn't end up getting ahead of the other)
Game: any of the Sinnoh ones
So, WHO ACCEPTS MY CHALLENGE?
I have always used the Shiny Clause in my Nuzlockes(non-preset Shinies ignore the catching rules) bht I never found one
In this run, finding a Shiny would even award you points
And I'm still waiting for someone to accept my challenge to start the run because I need to name my rival after them
Or I'll just go solo again

Would you prefer the next Nintendo handheld to be Dual Screen like usual? Or would you prefer single screen?
I honestly like both, both really have things that are worth doing imo. For the dual screens, having that extra touch screen allows you to easily switch between menus in certain games like Zelda which is cool. However it does add to system bulk, but at the same time you are allowed to flip your system and protect the screens. Flipping also let's you easily go into sleep mode.
Single screen is nice because you get generally a bigger screen, the cost of the system focuses more on hardware than lowering the cost of 2 LCD screens in one device. There's also need to open the system up to play, you simply pick it up and go. However your screen is more likely to scratch, but screen protector will solve that. Another benefit to having a single screen the ability to have true analog sticks and on both sides without hurting the form factor.
Although I do like both, I think I slightly prefer single screen like game boy, wii u game pad, etc. I do want to see Nintendo do a single screen handheld again and what it's capable of. I'll be fine with a dual screen one regardless since it's also a great idea, too.
I'd say keep the dual screens. Nintendo managed to make unique and interesting mechanics in it's games using the dual screens, and it was convenient (You could check the map in LoZ without having to pause, etc.) without being encumbering.
So what about 3D then, doods? Should they keep the 3D effect for the next handheld? Or should they scrap 3D and focus more on a more quality system? For the record, 3D LCDs generally effect the design and internal space.
Even if no one accepts it, I'll leave this here http://strawpoll.me/6122305
Nickname suggestions for the other two will be needed
EDIT: I can't believe you guys would vote on Piplup
I can't believe you all hate me so much
I would even play with Chimchar for the sake of irony
But no, you guys are as bland as Ash with your choices

Tinker Knight would have been an interesting character to play as, actually. You would use a mech/gundam-esque body that you could customise and upgrade, like different arms, different legs, different head, all with different abbilities and stats, kinda like Medabots.

With that said, if they keep dual screens, do you want 3D to return again? Or would you prefer without 3D but better hardware design in response to the lack of 3D?
Absolutely the latter.
I never use 3D unless it's like, mandatory. I'd instantly trade the 3D visuals for higher polygons and crisper visuals.
If Nintendo made a 720p handheld that'd be [redacted]

Anything would be better than King Knight imo
He is supposed to be the first Knight after all AKA simple as it can get
At least I got Specter and Plague Knight's campaign is heartwarming
I would have taken Polar Knight instead of King
If they are having size issues with Specter already...

That's a bit unfair. That is an oversight of the auto-censor of Smashboards, not the user's fault.
...In any case, the mistake was quickly corrected so it obviously wasn't intentional.
Honestly, I think YCG could make a Super Shovel Knight...With guest characters! 'You used our character, now we can use yours! Muahahahaha!'
Though I'd rather have them do more than SK

Im actually curious what they will make him play like. I mean since he is apparently the last DLC character they wouldnt just make him boring, there's gotta be something they have in mind. 2D character action maybe? After all, he has Vergil's Rapid Slash, Helm Splitter... maybe...

I think the logic is that it would be nearly impossible to censor every single variation of a swear word. It's just difficult on where to draw the line. Do we also censor variants that have two '', what about three? When does a variant of a word replace the normal word? It's obvious it wasnt intentional and it was quickly corrected, so there's no action required for me. I'm just saying that there was a stricter mod, that would be grounds for a warning so be careful.

I know, I was making a joke. On a serious note, a Smash like Indie game (that's not Rivals of Aether) doesn't sound like a bad idea. Having characters from say like Shantae, Skullgirls, Undertale, SK, etc. duking it out would actually be pretty interesting.
The Shovel Knight release date has been a mess. I asking the guy at the GAME shop when it was coming in and he said they had sold out. Then I checked their website and it was still at pre-orders. Last I checked, it was 11 of December. Help.

>Starter poll is tied
Y? I'll just pick Swamp
Well, even if only four people voted on each I'm going to start already
Zoroarking's Bizzare Platinum Wedlocke feat. Swamp
Starter: Turtwig(Swampasaur)
Rival: ????
Da Rules:
Catching
You must catch or obtain only the first eligible obtainable Pokemon you encounter in any route or area, with exceptions being made based on the Pokemon's gender. Fail to catch it and you get nothing for the area.
Genderless Pokemon cannot be caught. Ever. I'm ignoring this rule because everyone deserves some love <3 S2
If you have 1, 3, or 5 Pokemon in your party, you ignore any Pokemon encounters whose gender you have more of, e.g: if you have just one male Pokemon and two female Pokemon, you cannot catch any more female Pokemon until the count is even again. If you have an even number of each gender, this does not apply.
"Dupes Clause" is recommended, to add to the uniqueness of each Pokemon. This means you do not count any encounter against any Pokemon whose species you have already caught, which is usually determined by the Poke Ball symbol by their HP bar.
Partnering
Your Pokemon are "partnered" with each other and must fight in pairs.
Only one male and one female can form a pair (though you may choose to alter rules to allow same-sex pairs[Note: I'm going to ignore all of your genders because it would otherwise be impossible to have an even number of each, but I'm going to try to remain accurate for some time and I'm allowing same-sex couples]), and once they do, it lasts until one dies or is released.
Each Pokemon on your team can battle only alongside its partner, if it has one. Switching Pokemon out in battle is allowed, but ONLY for the Pokemon's partner.
If a Pokemon dies in battle, its partner must avenge the fallen Pokemon or die along with them; switching to any other Pokemon is forbidden, regardless of circumstance. (In the case of Double or Triple Battles, you may have to make exceptions. Do what feels right.)
If a Pokemon's partner dies, it can gain a new one that doesn't already have a partner (either from a PC box or a wild Pokemon).
If a Pokemon which is wedded dies, its partner becomes a "lone wolf."
A Pokemon is a "lone wolf" must be given a new partner as soon as possible.
If no Pokemon of the corresponding gender are available, the lone wolf must fight alone until a new partner is caught.
If there is only one Pokemon eligible to become its partner, it must be. (For example, if a male Pokemon's partner dies, and there is only one female Pokemon in the PC, they must be paired.)
As I start, Rowan asks me to touch his Pokeball in the touchscreen an-- OH GOD A BUNEARY JUMPED OUT OF IT
And then he asks if I'm a boy or a girl but I think what he really means is if I wear a stupid hat or not
And that answer is no
**** Lucas
And my name... I can only fit Zoroark on it. God ****ing damnit Rowan
And who my """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""friend"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" is(jesus, is this an interrogatory?)(also **** this hyperactive child)
I name him Gematsu because he is the enemy of all mankind
Much like Barry normally is
Let's just skip to the part where I get my starter
Here's a controversial idea, what they were trying to go for with Samus in Other M... was Lucina. i.e. a tough and stoic warrior that gives away to an emotional side kept hidden with devotion to a father figure.
What Other M did wrong was A. not doing it in the same game as she was introduced (same goes to that Ridley thing too) B. Doing it in a game without much character interaction in the first place. C. Handling it poorly overall.
They were going for a version of Samus we could actually symapthise with and empathise with (which barely existed before - while she had some definition and even a bit of agency at times, other games besides maybe Fusion don't really define her much as far as I'm aware, much like most of Nintendo's series mascots), but went about it the complete wrong way.
Instead of setting up something new for Samus to experience and react to after the events of Fusion, they instead decided to set it in a time set between existing games where she was already over most of her mental issues regarding her early life. They also tried to use established characters as the cause of her issues.
Even ignoring that though, the way she is presented is horrible. She feels like she is ripped straight out of one of those disgusting **** hentais or something, where the female character is emotionally traumatised and is used and violated and all of that.
Basically, you know those vore and bondage comics you see on deviantART and what not where perverted fans take even the most OP female characters and put them in these situations where they are on the verge of being violated and possibly killed thereafter, even when it would never realistically happen to these characters (Rosalina is a popular target for this, and Samus actually has been too)? How Samus is written in Other M, and how she is treated by other characters, is borderline to something like that. Except it's officially licensed and sold by Nintendo.
