Yeah, the censorship complaints are getting overblown.
As a matter of fact, there are still religious references in the localized version. However, some names were changed due to being Engrish-y (such as the BLADE acronym and some of its division names), which did have the side effect of removing religious references.
Of course, rabid fanboys being rabid fanboys, they blew this up out of proportion. The only actual censorship is Lin's fanservice outfits and the boob slider, of which the former I agree with, but the latter I don't.
People should make a better effort at informing themselves rather than trusting what amounts to word of mouth and fact twisting.

Testament was the name of the faction, which didn't even make any sense to begin with. I don't see it as "religious" censorship, I see it more as changing something to make it sound better.
People just need to take a big breath and relax a little bit.

With some people getting up in arms about religious censorship in games, I have to wonder.
Had the Internet been a big thing in the eighties, I think some people would have had a heart attack at how much religious censorship happened at the hands of NoA.

I heard there's a character whose name is an anagram of Lucifer or something like that. (Not sure if spoilers, but if it is, my apologies.)
One of the mechas contains the name Mastema (which is a reference to demonology IIRC).
But again, I do agree with the censoring of Lin. The bikini was too risqué and all they did was to tone it down (and even so, they didn't tone down that much).
The breast slider is political correctness gone wrong and alienates female gamers who wanted to make full use of the avatar creator. Sure, it could be used for pervy purposes by male players, but I'd think a 12+ rated game could get away with that. Boob sizes are as natural as say, the size of your hands, feet, head and so on.
What I really think, however, is that ESRB should have a mid-term rating between T (13+) and M (17+).
CERO (Japan) has B (12+), C (15+) and a 18+ rating while PEGI has 12, 16 and 18 ratings. ESRB's M and AO ratings are almost redundant due to their single-year gap. Seriously, what's the logic behind 17+ and 18+ ratings?
CERO rated Xenoblade X with a C rating and PEGI could easily rate it 16. If Nintendo was aiming for a similar rating, non-existent in ESRB, they probably wouldn't have to tone down some stuff. (Lin would probably be censored, anyway.)

Pretty much this. Too many people are using the word censorship and "self-censorship" (a dumb word imo) without understanding what true censorship is. It's really annoying...
It's almost as bad as the DOA soft ban earlier this year; some DOA community big names/heads made an optional ban of the fanservice costumes during tournaments so that random bystanders wouldnt see the game as smut and might respect it more; it was funny how almost all the detractors didnt even go to tournaments. Unironically, someone tried to make a point and chose to use the costume anyway at a public tournament only to have a little girl end up asking her mother "why why is she naked" and he ended up embarrassed and apologizing to the mother and child.

Well 18 is the legal age you can watch porn in the US, so to me I appreciate the little difference. To me it says "This is not on the same level as porn." To me that says a lot, even though the age difference is small.
Concerning the boob slider, I agree that it was probably unnecessary and I wouldnt be surprised if they patched it in, but realistically......they're not alienating that many females. They're alienating a female core gamers, that are interested in a niche game, and give a crap about their characters breast size. That's...probably not a lot of people.
That said, the number of those affected isnt that relevant. It's the reasons that matter imo. I wont pretend to know why Nintendo chose to remove the slider, but I will say that I find the removal of the option to be a strange choice. And I also doubt it was an easy one.

So I was thinking about something- people are saying the Shovel Knight rumor is dead or that Shovel Knight doesn't have as much "oomph" as Cloud and won't get in or something similar. But how do we know he wasn't Ballot material? I assume the Ballot's going to work differently, and as such, i don't think it's far-fetched to see him appear.

So I had the strangest dream last night...
And then I woke up shaking, my dog was right next to me in bed though and gave me a lick, which made me feel the slightest bit better. 
It all started when I was in the car with my father, in my old house, who wanted to take me on an "Adventure", so he took me to all sorts of places, like an amusement park, Blockbuster Video, etc. The Blockbuster actually had Amiibo, and there was a Despicable Me series of Amiibo. And then the car crashes and we get separated, and then I'm Kirby for some reason. After that, Betty White lets Kirby into her house to stay for the night, and tells him that she's trying to find her dvd collection. And then Kirby has a dream within the dream about Robot Chicken, with Kazumi from Dead or Alive being announced for Smash, and then Robot Chicken tells Kirby to look in the bathroom, and to his horror, he finds Betty White's dvd collection, he tries to run away from the house, but Betty White is at the door!
