Someone on another forum says it looks similar to a Shiba Inu, and I can kind of see where they're coming from due to the shape of the tail. So I'm thinking it's going to be a Normal type of some sort, maybe even the Lillipup of the generation in that it's common on the first few routes.

First glance I thought it was a goat of some kind, mainly because that trainers legs looked like horns...
I am getting sort of an ungulate vibe from it though as it's legs look like it has hooves...and it's tail reminds me of a deer in a way...but it's hard to tell for sure because it's such low res...

Unless it's like Furret, I believe so.

We are likely getting that woodpecker...just the potential design for it's final evo alone makes me excited for it...

I wouldn't doubt that Rowlet being cute helps, but I think the other reason for because of how Rowlet seems to be used for alot of jokes.

I took the liberty of zooming in for you guys.

It's much easier from this distance to see where the ears start and the shoes end. Definitely looks more like a dog with floppy ears from this distance, but then again that doesn't mean it IS. After all, there was the whole griffin incident last generation with Furfrou.

. . .Which if history repeats itself probably makes it even more likely to be a dog.

Furrett, Linoone, and Bibarel are all like top-tier hm slaves
On grounds thatthey learned standards like Cut, Strength, Rock Smash, Rock Climb, SURF, and Dig.
Then Bibarel also could get the other water HMs.

Also, I had an exclusive interview with the starters! I asked them what they thought of their popularity! Popplio started crying and ran away, Litten fell asleep, but Rowlet had an interesting reaction!

Torterra gains the ground typing and Earthquake upon evolving...****s on both Infernape and Empoleon...

tbh I can't choose between Torterra, Sceptile or Typhlosion as my favourite starters...

Bonsai ankylosaur tortoise, fiery bear badger, or xmas tree dragon raptor....I can't decide...

The early normal type is usually some sort of 'pest' creature though...much like rats and raccoons and such...although deer can be considered pests at times...so i dunno...

However it could be like another Lillipup or whatever and still be available early on...

I strongly believe either Johto or Sinnoh starters are getting Megas in Gen 7.
Of Gen 5 and 6, I think our frontrunners are Chandellure, Galvantula, Bisharp, Zoroark, Aegislash, Heliolisk, and Florges.

I think alot of the small Pokemon want to be as lucky as Beedrill and Pidgeot. For those two Pokemon who's basic stages are really common, they got rather good Mega Evos.

From my understanding, Ash Greninja is a Mega Evolution, just doesn't require a stone. It's even more of one than the Primal Evolutions, which are basically Mega Evolutions with different names.
