I don't see how Polygon is representative of the entire industry...I stopped caring about game reviews a long ago. Polygon's tripe only adds to the reasons why I shouldn't care.
So much for the video game industry being "mature". Bah, such delusions of grandeur.
Even the anime fanbase, for all its hijinks, can be better than this.
New Cap is objectively better. He, at a first glance, seems to be the same, but he's definitely more of a shield-oriented fighter and uses it more than the old Cap. He can punch the shield to knock back foes, and follow up with his shield, which I believe can be upgraded to stun multiple foes. He's also polished wonderfully, the shield constantly scrapes against the ground and launches sparks. He's your basic balanced fighter, is what it boils down to, with a lot of tools. His super move calls down a Helicarrier laser that reflects off of his shield, and it's got great range. Reminds me a bit of Olaf's super.I own both Ant-Man and Baloo, as well as Hawkeye, and I can say they're all definitely fun to play.
Ant-Man's pretty technical, but once you upgrade him so that he can combo out of his Ant Dash, he's amazing. Definitely a glass cannon though. He can't take a hit unless you upgrade him to get a shield, and even then, it depletes fast. He's almost like the Little Mac of the game, only with the best jumps in the game. Seriously, he actually ties with Hulk for highest jump, beating out Judy despite her being advertised as the best jumper. And he goes Giant-Man. That's always fun.
Baloo is outright one of my top three favorite figures. He's such a love letter to fans of him and the original film. His projectile is similar to Donald's in that, if you hold the button, it becomes even stronger, and stuns. His finisher where he rips a palm tree out of the ground and whacks foes with it is fantastic, and his special move is really fun to use. All in all he's just fantastic.
Hawkeye is a ranged character by definition, and when you upgrade his bow to launch three explosive arrows at once, he really does some damage and has a means of crowd control. However, he doesn't have crowd control when they swarm him from all sides. His aerial assault, while awesome looking, is on the weak side, and his special move is kind of meh as far as hit detection (might be because I didn't upgrade it fully though). All in all, still a really great character. I just wish he had a super jump like Black Widow though, which is the only thing keeping me from using him more than her.
I figured I'd ask you as well. I'm thinking of picking up Battlegrounds. How does New Cap compare to Old Cap? I really love Old Cap, but if New Cap is considerably better, it might be upgrade time.
Implying this is a single and isolated case.I don't see how Polygon is representative of the entire industry...

There's very few video game journalists I really trust anymore. Source Gaming, GameXplain and a general consensus on Twitter / YouTube does it for me nowadays.I stopped caring about game reviews a long ago. Polygon's tripe only adds to the reasons why I shouldn't care.

Oh, how I'd kill for Mysterio as the antagonist in Spider-Man: Homecoming. But Thanos as a villain in the John Hughes-style Spider-Man MCU jumpstart? Hope that this scene gets faithfully re-enacted:WE'RE GETTING CARNAGE! AND MYSTERIO! ALONGSIDE KRAVEN, THANOS AND HOBGOBLIN! YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME ALIVE! AND THE MAIN ANTAGONIST IS THE WALL!!!!!! True.Nitpicking, but Mudkip is much more of a mudskipper/mudpuppy than an axolotl. Wooper's line is the definitive axolotl line.

Sounds great! I have one more question about New Cap...does he have a Super Jump that's comparable to Old Cap's? Old Cap's is amazing.New Cap is objectively better. My other 3.0 Marvel characters (Hulkbuster, Ultron, Panther) are fun as well. Black Panther's very melee-based, and is a lot of fun to play as (although I really don't like the Supers that have you launch between foes like Yoda and Spot, and it just so happens that's his). Ultron feels great, he's a lot like an evil Iron Man in-game, with lasers and flight, plus he's got great melee attacks and can summon Ultron-bots as minions for his Super. Hulkbuster's just your tank character, and can use projectiles in-air, plus a missile launch Super. I highly recommend having at least Panther and Ultron just as characters.
Do keep in mind that Battlegrounds changes up gameplay DRASTICALLY. A lot of the 2.0 (and even some 3.0) characters and power discs are different from iuse in the Toy Box. You can't upgrade the characters in-game, either, and a majority of the unlock rewards aren't too interesting (and it requires you to have nearly all of the Marvel figures to unlock everything), but it's fun in a multi-player setting.
Which they gave 'Game of the month' and said it had no replayability despite not checking Newgame+ out. And they docked points for Sonic Generations for having stuff that was after SA2I stopped caring about reviews when GameSpot gave Shovel Knight a 7 despite the review itself not listing any negatives

I at least wanted to link what it was in the first place. Just so context is not lost and everything is running on fumes.
No, the childishness is not omnipresent. That would imply it is all-encompassing to everyone within these communities.Implying this is a single and isolated case.
One look at any gaming community is more than enough to see the omnipresent childishness.
And people wonder why games journalism isn't taken seriously.
It's one thing to have controversial opinions in a review, it's another to act like a baby and not review a game when it's their job as a journalist to do so.That's why I solely pay attention to the content of the review, not the score.
The fact they wouldn't give it a proper review already proves how important the content, and not the score is. I've played games that are blatantly incomplete(Sonic 06 and Quest 64), but still enjoyed 'em for the ride they gave, despite this. I can still recognize their many flaws.
But if you don't bother to give a proper review of something, flaws included(and of course its good points)..., then why bother? If it's a game I just can't get anywhere in, I don't bother reviewing it because I have yet to experience enough to be neutral and at least not full of extreme bias. Like reviews should be(of course bias is expected, but the less the better).
BRUTAL.I found the perfect Tweet to sum this all up:
There was a problem fetching the tweet
Like good God. Would it hurt to have some respect in your review? There's critiquing, and then there's throwing a temper tantrum.
I believe that reviewers deserve more respect than people give them credit for, but this isn't one of them.
I actually hear the whole "Macguire was a better Peter, Garfield was a better Spidey" thing quite a bit, so your friend's not alone.I-I-I-I what? Making a helicopter getaway is one thing, but this?
Also, speaking of Spidey films, a friend of mine said this about the previous ones. Tobey Mcguire was a much better Peter Parker and Andrew Garfield was a better Spiderman. Anyone agree with him? I did, Andrew Garfield used a smartphone, **** that noise, I remember Peter for being poor, like I was when I was young, made him more relatable
Triggered.jpgBetter than Power Rangers in space/10
It'll never be taken seriously. Outside of Gamespot as a maybe, nobody likes the gaming journalistsImplying this is a single and isolated case.

Disney Infinity is a double-edge sword. One one hand, it's a great creation tool and the playsets are great time-killers.I really need to get back into Disney Infinity.
The last time I played it was.....at least over a year and a half ago, I think. It's been way too long.
And naturally I'm also not nearly as caught up with the figures as I would like to be. lol.
From my memory, I believe he has a Super Jump? Looking it up, he's got one level of Super Jump, but also regenerates health (?), reflects projectiles, and has a parry attack. Definite upgrade from 2.0 Cap. I do wish they'd upgrade some of the 1.0 / 2.0 characters to fit the 3.0 formula, though. Phineas and Jack Skellington are so bare bones they've become boring.Sounds great! I have one more question about New Cap...does he have a Super Jump that's comparable to Old Cap's? Old Cap's is amazing.
And yeah, that's true about Battlegrounds. From what I remember, Ant-Man plays almost completely differently in there.
I'm being serious here.Fumes? Why, dear huggable Subby, nobodies angry, heaven forbid! We're only laughing our buttocks off for this tomfoolery
They put that line there in and are trying to be taken seriously. It's like the infamous 'who will I have ice cream with?' line in KH358. They WANT you to take it seriously, but make it absolutely laughable. Likewise, 'too much water' could be a valid complaint with ORAS as the late game is filled with it, limiting your team options to types that can handle itI'm being serious here.
I still think the last line is utterly ridiculous and shouldn't have been put in, and also that clickbait title. But to me it looked like it was the header. In fact it's a lot more civil that few fragments made it out to be (if only a bit caustic).
Now it's not the best made by any means, but just saying misinformation is a real thing. It's basically how most controversies begin in the first place.
That was Gamespot I think.I have to say.
I haven't seen such a sweet lash back against a review since the Cranky Kong NoA twitter burning a DKCR: TF (think it was IGN).
"Back in my day, falling in a pit was called 'lack of skill' and not 'cheap level design.' "
Whoa whoa whoaDisney Infinity is a double-edge sword. One one hand, it's a great creation tool and the playsets are great time-killers.
On the other hand, you're paying a radical amount for figurines and power discs.

IGN LOVES 2D platformers. It's why Sonic 4: Episode 1 got at one point higher scores than Generations and Colors and they really like the handheld games too. That was Gamespot I think.
IGN gave DK:TF a 9 and praised it for "Clever level designs"
This is amazing news for someone who has loved Spider Man since childhood.Though from what the reviews are saying, Tom Holland is looking to be the new definitive Peter and Spider-Man.
Oh sure it's laughable and extremely immature. They put that line there in and are trying to be taken seriously. It's like the infamous 'who will I have ice cream with?' line in KH358.
