It's dumb, implies there is only one way to use a sword and also acts as if RPGs and other Fantasy setting games don't use them very often
Find an RPG where one of the main characters does not use a sword

To all those who think Cloud was a bad choice, allow me to explain why he is a good choice.

You see Cloud isn't really representing Final Fantasy VII, he's representing Final Fantasy series as a whole, and if you were to chose a FF protagonist, Cloud is a stand out choice since he is the most iconic and recognisable FF protagonist out there.

Also something else I wish to say, I don't think Cloud being in means Smash is now a game for all video-game history, it's still Nintendo, and Cloud is only here because of Final Fantasy's history with Nintendo, so no I don't think this means just about anybody else from a series with no history with Nintendo can still get in.

So now that we have Cloud, only Konami, the last real current big developer from the Snes, who don't have a character in Smash

I hope that everyone realize that there is no way cloud is ballot. With the amount of work he has put into him, he's pre ballot. Also this is yet another instance where sakurai said that not everything he tweets is smash related except it is. He has mentioned his love for lightening and the series and look what happened.... I'm calling 3 characters next month, and they all will release then as well as cloud.. As for who:
I predict: wolf, k rool, and inklings
That will be pack 2, and then we get one more pack later in 2016.
Anyway this was a really hype direct and the best one imo. They did a lot in 45 minutes and delivered quite a lot. Shows us yet again that smash is unpredictable and that 3rd parties must be iconic, and kills the bomberman leak and the shovel knight one.
They showed a lot of great games and details! Really enjoyed it,
and I need the Wolf Link amiibo.
