Favorite starters by region?
Kanto: Blastoise
Johto: Tie between Feraligatr and Typhlosion
Hoenn: Blaziken
Sinnoh: Empoleon
Unova: Emboar
Kalos: Greninja

Also, when's the direct supposed to start for those of us in the Central time zone?

:094:
The Direct is in about an hour and a half...

----

It was brought up before so I'll ask....who has ever tried Nuzlocking a pokemon game?

I've only nuzlocked Kanto.
Red and Fire Red.

There's one death in particular that will stick with me.

Pokemon Red, Koga battle.

Getting down to his Weezing, I send out my Beedrill, Kamina.

Twinneedle hits both times, getting the damn thing down to about a quarter health.

>Self Destruct.

And the way I'll always think of it is a suicidal charge from Kamina jamming one drill into both faces. As the Weezing starts to shine from the incoming explosion, a single tear's shed.

"Later, buddy..."

Kamina never died. He simply hid himself so he could heal.

I've played Wonderlockes quite a few times, but strange enough the funnest Nuzlocke I did was just a regular Nuzlocke in Pokemen Y....got to use quite a few Pokemon I never used before like Roserade and Bisharp...Only notable death i remembered though was Bisharp in Victory Road, died to a Weavile of all things...I thought to myself 'Weavile's frail and weak to steel, Bisharp can handle it'....outsped (expected) and used Low Kick (forgot Weavile even got Low Kick) and just annihilated Bisharp....'welp that's what happens when you underestimate your favourite pokemon' XD...

It's not a Nuzlocke but I did manage to play through Pokemon Y doing a Dragon Monotype (I limited to only 1 psurdo); Tyrantrum, Haxorus, Dragalge, Salamence, Flygon, Noivern...no other Pokemon game actually gave more than 6 choices for dragons before so it was really fun...Haxorus was my MvP without a doubt...

You have such a wide aray of cool looking and effective grass types and you just never choose any of them?
Chose Squirtle
Haven't played
Haven't played
Haven't played
Chose Tepig
Chose Greninja

I'll probably pick up the new version of Ruby/Sapphire at some point, since I've never played them before...

The best part.
In a symbolic sense.
Is that shortly before, I had caught my Doduo which I jokingly named "Trimon" because of Drill Peck.
The EXP from that very Gym battle got the evolution.

Fast forward to the Champion Blue fight, vs Alakazam.
Turn 1 Reflect.
"Giga..."
Drill Peck, takes down a little over half.
Turn 2, Recover.
"Drill."
Drill Peck, takes down to a bit over half.
Turn 3, Recover.
"BEAK!"
Drill Peck CRIT.

And I can't help but imagine it being that each turn another head went into the actual attack into a three-prong spiral nightmare.

I have completed nuzlocke runs of Red, Gold, Ruby and a god-awful english translation of Green, documented all four runs for memories' sake.

The Green run was by far the most fun, I can only assume the rom I got was some kind of old direct word-for-word translation because it was all over the place, even the Pokémon names were a mess, for example Venusaur was called Flowe and Fearow was called Drill, and I'd like to see if anyone can guess who the likes of Delan, Yadon, Bobo and Papan were. It also crashed three times, I even had to switch to a more functional rom using the same save file to get past Bruno and then switch back again, so I always saved as often as I could. It was a new way of playing the old game I've completed countless times, with all the new names for Pokémon and moves I was always kept on my toes and had to do a lot of risky things, it was tons of fun even if tedious at times.

Given 5 minutes is pretty long for a trailer, I wonder if they'll do both Z AND Sun&Moon

Starters? Starters.

Venusaur
Typhlosion
Swampert
Empoleon in Pearl, Infernape in Platinum
Samurott in Black, Emboar in Black 2
Greninja

And dammit, I love all these guys. I'm a holder of the seemingly unpopular opinion that Emboar and Samurott are perfectly good starters, and that Samurott has a good design. :p

Gen V starters were average when Black and White were released. Serperior got Contrary in Gen VI so I guess that makes it better. +2 Leaf Storm probably hyped a lot of people.

Also 3DS is now 5 years, really cool.

I do lots of them
My first one was in Y where I still have nightmares and blame myself for half of the deaths
The other half I blame on ****ing Korrina, Pursuit and crits
And it changed my opinion on some Pokemon
Mainly Azumarill tho
Kamina never died. He simply hid himself so he could heal.

(It's actually a reference to Capcom retconning Inafune's design to have Zero die at the end of X5. In X6 he just appears out of nowhere and said that, as nothing more than a torso and head, he hid off somewhere to repair himself)

Ok, so for some random reason I actually woke up on time. It means I'm not going to have enough sleep tonight, but whatever. I had to pee and it woke me up on time
