I don't think Sakubias is really a real thing, but I agree DP could've been much better. Doesn't change that Alph should've been in over him and likely Lucina though.
Not really. Include the Rock Pikmin, change up the neutrals/grabs/aerials somewhat and you've got a clone on your hands. He wouldn'tve taken more time then Dr. Mario did.

Nobody wants a former character turned into an alt. And with good reason. Thankfully Sakurai seems to be against the idea.
Lucina is hugely popular and definitely was the better choice than Alph
Mmmmm, while clones are VERY common in general when it comes to fighting games, they usually tend to diversify.(Or sometimes you have an older version of the character in there too as a seperate slot.) Heck, out of the seven "clones" you've mentioned, most of them aren't really clones. I'm not against smash clones, I just see them as more content we could've not had at all if anything. But to say that clones in other fighting games are much worse is a HUGE stretch.Clones in Smash aren't anywhere near as bad as other games. For example: In Ultra Street Fighter IV alone,has SEVEN clones to choose from.
Dark pit was changing the color of a few textures, porting 2 weapon model from Kid Icarus Uprising and redoing it in HD for WiiU, reskinning a final smash, and then changing the properties to 3 moves.
The Rock Pikmin require all new models, and need to actually be different from the Purple Pikmin to justify being playable. That requires a lot of time and testing. All of Dr. Mario's moves required barely any time at all because no major model changes were necessary. Every move already existed. That's how easy it was. Dark Pit even has actual differences from Pit. Alph meanwhile was perfect as an alt because you don't miss any of the character being played, as the entire focus is on the Pikmin.

Cloyd is really easy and fun to play as, hitting a meteor FAir is very satisfying
Corrin is main material holy **** I love them so much. Side B is easy to use when you get used to the timing
Bayonetta has a hard learning curve but is so fun to play as
The stages are nice too I guess
