Does anyone else look at all the "Ridley is too big" jokes and comments about his being used as a stage, then look at one of the other villains that comes up in roster conversations, and just kinda

visualizes Ridley going through Chapter 23 of Kid Icarus: Uprising?

There's more than enough clearance in there to fit him, even if he wasn't something of a contortionist.

Then it just goes from an awkward comparison to wondering what Ridley's reaction is going to be to that kind of absurd situation and the whole thing devolves into hilarity from there.

Here's a fun game.

Take a franchise you like and make a roster for a fighting game spin off. You can mix franchises too if you want.

Go nuts.
Quest 64.

Stars Brian, Guilty, Zelse, Mammon, Nepty, Leo D'Nardo, Epona, Kiliak, Princess Flora, Fargo, King Beigis, Shilf, Lavaar, Solvaring.

The monsters are Assists or specific character summons. Every character has four summons, while the rest are assists.

Guest stars Cloud from Final Fantasy 7(with a dress alt), Sonic from Sonic Adventure 1(with a Metal Sonic alt), and Master Chief from Halo(no specific alts, just good recolors). Those are all notable ones from the other systems(Playstation, Xbox, Sega Dreamcast).

Every "Dungeon" is a course, as well as most areas. Music matches the course. Controls I have not figured out yet.

I... Am in a bit of a funk...

It feels like no one in real life wants anything to do with me.
What makes you think this? I'm sure that's not the case. I'm sure that much like how you are liked here, those who know you irl do as well. Perhaps your friends are busy?

OK, but aside from a Dark Souls fighting game, what I'd really like is for Nintendo vs. Capcom to be a thing.

If only for this.
This would be pretty awesome, but I feel like they wouldn't think of it, which be sad, because it works so well.

They might be busy with other things. Swamp, lonliness bites and eats someone on the inside, but I recommend trying to organize something with your friends, like a movie night or something. This is the kind of problem that you, and only you, can fix. I believe in you man, you've always been there for us after all
This is pretty random, but..

I suddenly have the idea of Undertale being an action adventure created by Platinum Games. Somehow I feel it would work really well.

I'll explain it further when I have the time to do so. I have so many ideas waiting to pop out.
...Why? Undertale's focus has always been story telling, Platinum is most well known for something that goes against what Undertale stands for. Violent and flashy beat em ups. It's just something that Platinum can't mesh well with. It's like trying to ask Valve to make an edgy as **** Winnie the Pooh FPS

Do you think there may be a particular reason?

-------------

I updated Cosmic Spirit Rosalina a bit more.

I fixed the textures up to be a bit more like how they actually were in Galaxy 2. Looks a lot smoother than the first version.

This will be it on her for now.

With Platinum Games knowledge of best gameplay and Undertale's storytelling, I just feel it would mesh extremely well.
Yeah but Platinum is all . . .action and explosions (generalization)

Undertale is supposed to be super pacifist. Hell it's an RPG for a reason. Honestly I can't think of a much worse match >_>

Is the rim lighting only going to be visible in-game?
It's pretty necessary for this costume I feel.

Since I'm late to the party and everyone is taking my ideas, I'll just make this:

Megaman
Roll
Protoman
Bass
Duo
Elecman
Cutman
Gutsman
Iceman
Metalman
Heatman
Flashman
Airman
Shadowman
Snakeman
Skullman
Slashman

Now this is pretty cool:

A marvel and legos fan made a 4 1/2 replica of the SH.E.I.L.D. Helicarrier using only the footage from avengers!

IT might be huge, but I would love this as a set!

It's also neat to see what people do with legos!

Initially I thought about making a Zelda roster for that fun game, but then I realized Hyrule Warriors exists and already done a great job with it so I settled with KI. I'm going to expand on it sometime in the future and do a character collage like the image I posted because the ones online aren't good imo. Tho this one is quite cute.
And I'm thinking of buying Kid icarus, of myths & monsters, depending on the price of it. I already beaten the NES original through 3D Classics twice + a bit (NES Remix 2) so shouldn't be too hard.

I'm probably not the best person to give advice, but I'm in a similar boat. I've felt like this for most of my life and I've just learned to live with it. I don't know what your situation is, but just try not to let it get to you. Someone out there cares. I'm still waiting to find someone.

The rim lighting was something that was a side effect of Galaxy's particular lighting effects, I think.

I would imagine it would have it on the Mario Galaxy stage. And other stages with similar lighting.

Baby steps though. I just wanna get to the point where I have SOMETHING to put into the game first.

Speaking of babies...

Just for fun, took two minutes. I wonder how changing Luma skins would work though. It'd be cool if there were extra slots for him, like other characters, or you could tie it to Rosalina's alts somehow.

Kid Icarus:

Pit, Palutena, Angel Centurion, Cherubot, 'Light Angel'(from online) - staff moveset

Viridi, Dark Pit, Phosphora, Arlon, Cragalanche, Flage, Dark Angel - claw moveset

Medusa, Thanatos, Pandora, Amazon Pandora, Hades, Twinbellows

Poseidon, Pyrrhon, Magnus, Dark Lord Gaol, Dyntos, Chariot Master

Great Reaper,Eggplant Wizard, Tempura Wizard, Chaos Kin, Orcos, Space Pirate Captain, Mimicutie

Yes. =D

*cries fanboy tears*
Does anyone still play Uprising's online modes? LvD I find to be a lot more enjoyable than any of Smash's online modes personally, except when you fight those who abuse gem transfers.

Once fought an entire team of Japanese players who had bows with max ranged power, plus max range/homing/charge shot, and stacked yellow stat powers. KO'd my entire team in under 30 seconds from the other side of the map. -_-

Through further thought, I think it being made Platinum Games was the wrong idea.

Think of it as 3D Zelda-esque RPG. Gameplay is similar to Ocarina of Time, except you're not using using one weapon to solve the entire dungeon and puzzle, you're using multiple commands to get the job down.

There's two modes you can choose from with the press of a shoulder button:

FIGHT or ACT.

In FIGHT mode, your main use of combat is your fist in the beginning of the game. However you're able to switch from multiple weapons easily by using the C-Stick as you discover more weapons in the game. Smash the enemy's HP until they're dust.

In ACT mode, You're automatically given a set of ACT commands you can choose from the XABY buttons when encountering an enemy. Because all of the XABY commands are replaced with ACT commands, you won't be to attack at all unless you switch back to FIGHT mode.

I think it would solve the problems that some people have with the lack of deep gameplay if it was designed this way.

One thing to note.
"Plenty?"
:4pit: got 3 specials changed :4bowser:got a overhaul alongside :4zss: to a lesser extent.
But besides that?
:4zelda::4sheik: :4charizard: one new special move.
:4yoshi: had his default stance better fixed but his actual moveset's 1-1 last I checked.
:4charizard::4lucario::4ness::4zss::4luigi::4dedede::4kirby: 7 new Final Smashes.
:4wario2: Forward Smash.
:4dk::4link: a more fitting dash attack.

Maybe I'm just being particular about word choice but "plenty" and "significant" changes to characters' movesets for the base game.
Yoshi also has a different up smash and dash attack, and Pit got a new side tilt, up tilt, foward air, jab and Final Smash (as did R.O.B.). Plus Shiek got 2 new special moves along with a new default stance

Also Peach got a new up air, Sonic got a new down smash, Charizard got a new foward air and up throw, Falco got a new back air and up air, Samus got a new neutral air, Luigi got a new down throw, Olimar got a new jab, foward tilt, and up special, Deedee got a new down tilt, foward air, back air, and side special.

Other than that a number of old moves were had new animations added to it like Diddy's dash attack, Meta-Knight's up special, and the jab finishers.

This also isn't counting the DLC fighters like Roy.

Complicating the formula takes away from the premise.

You know what be a cool fighting game?

An Icon Battle Royal.

Anyone up for the challenge?

Rules:
-Needs to be only icons( As in they were the biggest/ most worth notey)
- Every System needs to be represented. With several icons from each( No limit to how many you can have)
- No limit to how many characters total
- Any party is game( I.E. 1stt, 3rd, 4th, etc)
- Each franchise should have only rep, but some cases could be argued to allow more. For Example, you can do mario, but let's say you want Luigi. You would then have him rep luigi's mansion instead, as it was big in the gamecube era.

- Arcade representation is allowed as well.

-also you don't need to state the system, unless you want it specified.

So who would you add? As I think of more, I'll post a list.
But for now, here's a few:

Mario
Luigi
Crash Bandicoot,
Bomberman
Frogger
Pac man
Banjo Kazzooie
Yoshi.
Donkey kong
Samus
Captain Falcon
Mr. Game and Watch
Mega Man
Link
Cloud Strife
Kirby
Dante
Leon Scott Kennedy
Snake
Nightmare
Pikachu
Kratos
Espio( Assassins' Creed)
Master chief
Robin( Fire emblem)
SackBoy
Sora
Mickey Mouse
Pheonix Wright
Proffessor Layton
Jibiyan

That's all I have for now, but what would your roster be?

I also need villain suggestions, and how to add them. Perhaps each series should get a villain as well?

Yeah, Chandy got me more aware of some differences.
Also the "DLC fighters like Roy" wouldn't have been sacrificed to being rushed like Dorf theoretically in relation to others on the roster

Mind explaining that statement further? How does its simplicity of gameplay work in Undertale's favor.

I don't think it would be that complicated to understand with 3D Zelda esque controls.

The only difference is that isn't turn based and it would be more action-packed, if not more action-packed than the bullet hell mechanics the game is given.

No one would want a Dota fighting game. Over half the match would just be the characters powering up, and the other half them just spamming abilities.

The point of Undertale isn't the gameplay.

It's the story and getting to know each character. Even the enemies.

The simple gameplay works because it allows the plot/characters to be the main focus.

Undertale isn't so much of a game, but an experience.

Adding more "game" dilutes what it's good at.

Undertale really shouldn't be more action packed.

The whole point of the game is to make friends with your enemies. Things are kept very simple so that its possible.

To be honest, I just started up LvD again after all these mentions for the first time in a few months. It's still just as fun as ever.

I just hope if there is ever a sequel that you can only have one of a given weapon in your entire stock, Bumblebee is nerfed (not OP but annoying as hell), and that Yellow Powers are no longer stackable. Also an actual search function when going through one's weapon stock and more hearts for online matches.

I gotta disagree on this one, Swampy.
I didn't get that at all.
To me the game was about swallowing remorse for your actions as you carve your way into a version of history that breaks the standard fate.
To overcome cheap attempts to make you back down and show your weakness to monsters who above all else want to take YOUR soul and invade the surface.

And let's be honest Undertale and "action" are polar opposites. Unless you consider a Genocide run, which even then the main focus is more on your actions than anything.

Oh who am I kidding I like the idea. Genocide runs for all. Chara told me the way, and that way is murder.

I don't really think Undertale would need any much more added or change to it's gameplay than it already has. The bullet-hell part of it's gameplay is one thing, and it's certainly challenging, but the basic turn-based gameplay and FIGHT/ACT menu formula is perfectly fine as it is, IMO.
