I think this one is pretty good, but it's just one of the kids, with a colored in tongue, holding onto a girls leg.

I did hear that some of the voice actors in the game are celebrities in Japan, which might be the reason for not including the Japanese voices this time around. Licensing can be a legal nightmare at times, especially when dealing with the usage of someone's voice.

Remember when I talked yesterday about the Bayonetta songs and Snake Eater being instrumental in Smash? More or less the same thing, except with actors.

If I were to eliminate K. Rool and Inklings because of their Mii Costumes, then my number one that didn't make it was Isaac. All that he needs to be given extra points for the next game is Golden Sun 4 to be released. You don't leave a returning game series on a tedious cliffhanger!

It doesn't help that it's literally a 3-game set, so the licensing would be a huge nightmare. Even more than getting songs solely for the Wii U version of Smash.

Speaking of voices, I just finished watching an old favorite Anime of mine, Mew Mew Power. They didn't dub the second season, but fandubbers have worked on their own. So far, most voices are pretty spot-on, but they screwed up many others. The most notable villain, Dren, always sounded feminine, but was clearly male. Now it's completely a bland female voice. The only thing left is the sarcastic dialogue(which fit well). He was purposely condescending, and it worked great, considering his major Yandere tendencies.

The issue might revolve around Azura's singing voice (note: in the Japanese version, her acted voice and singing voice are done by two different people), so the singer likely owns the rights for the song, which was actually released as a single in Japan.

The song's composition is owned by Nintendo and Intelligent Systems, though.

In the English dub, Azura is voiced by the same person whether for acting or singing. In that case, Nintendo and Intelligent Systems might actually have rights over the English version of the song.

Again, as I've stated yesterday, it often happens that a song's composition and a song's lyrics are owned by separate entities. There's also the matter of paying royalties to the singers/vocalists, especially when they're idols or celebrities, which usually ups the licensing cost.

As a result, using instrumental versions is sometimes a safer option than having to get the rights for the vocal part. Depends on how the rights are done for each song, though.

There are plenty of vocal songs in Smash and the copyright info states they're owned entirely by the companies (Nintendo, Sega and others).

I just listened to it, and I don't like it

The words do not match the melody of the song very well

Edit: I didn't even know there was a version with lyrics in the first place so this is the first time I've heard it

Edit 2: The three parts I didn't really like

The repeated use of "Oh" to try and fit in with the music

The lines "Spoken as you cross your heart" not matching the music at all

"I believe in make-believe" ...They should have found a different word of the same meaning so it didn't sound so redundant

Though overall, I got 2 that I wanted pre-release(Mega Man and Robin), 2 characaters I like but didn't exactly root for them(Rosalina and Bowser Jr.) and a bunch of characters I didn't know I wanted(basically the rest of the 3rd parties, Lil Mac and Shulk)
But I guess my favorites were "characters I wanted but thought were imposssible" with Greninja, the Koopalings and Corrin
I dunno, I like to look more of what went right than what went wrong
