The complexity doesn;t worth the feel to it and it;s honestly what i care the most in music.

i can give tons of examples, the superstar saga battle theme, very simple, but VERY prominent in how catchy it is, that;s the music I tend to like a lot.

Pokemon x/y ost, VERY complex to the point where I need my open back headphones to enjoy them, but they feel so good and innovative it;s worth it.

The extreme that I tend to really like is 8bit inspired music, the lavender town original music from pokemon is REALLY simple, you can';t get more simple than beeps and noise, but the feel to it is like......it makes you react a lot which is genius.

It's like, my philosophy with complexity in music is if you make it complex, make the feel also complex to compensate because if a music is complex for not much reasons then it feels it drags on a bit.

And how it happens with Paper jam is jsut that, the battle theme is jsut too complex for a very little bit of catchy. Either make the feel more present or simplify the track would've fixed it for me, but as is, i don;t tend to like it and actually forget it in minutes.....

I don't know, but if she really tried to have a more happier or paper mario feel to it, she failed because I still think dt was better in what i just described and we are far away from how Paper Mario has that thing that it;s very very simple, but works so well.

To each their own, I suppose.

What I do know is that I listened to the Bowser's Inside Story soundtrack everyday for nearly six months after playing the game so you can guess just how much I enjoyed it.

Like the thing about music is I noticed I tend to like classical a lot. It is what i just described, it;s very simple when you hear it because the notes sounds clear, but the melody is so complex that it;s impressive.

Like to me, it;s more an aesthetic vs meaning. I am all for having aesthetic as long as it has a meaning that justify that. and of course, I am all for the most meaning in the least aesthetic like 8bit for example, it;s very bad aesthetically because it;s just beeps to your ears, but if you make it so the meaning is good, I will instantly forget it;s just beeps.

Plus at the end of the gif before it loops she slows down her clap and has her hands together for longer if you look closely.

Eh. To me she looks sarcastically sassy. Not everyone will feel the same about everything. Ooo, play her games if you haven't yet. Maybe you'll change your mind.

Well when I think of Bayonetta and being sassy, I just think of her giving a cheeky smirk.

Seems more characteristic of her than giving a stoic expression.

ok, so I tried the first 4 of XCX........until i realised it;s clearly the style I don;t like lol

First, I forgot to mention i actually most of the time don;t like vocals. It might be dude to the way i concentrate, but to me I can;t put the vocals and the track at once where they normally should be considered as so. So.....you get that I woudlnt; l;iek that.

Second, holy geez, 5 MINUTES ON A SINGLE LOOP! This is probably the longest VGM I saw with the exception of something that are supposed to be long like credits music. Honestly, you have to impress me A WHOLE LOT for me to care for 5 minutes in a row. Unless if they are ambient music that are meant to be background noise, then ok,. but then i realise......a lot of tracks are like that so.....

Third, it;s way too complex. I don;t really think I need to elaborate on this one, but considering the length......it just makes me want to stop listening and do other things because it;s so long.

Ah... I did put some of his more bombastic and complex from XCX tunes first.

He does some simpler tunes as well. Listen to PianoX3 from XCX, for example.

I did try to select a diverse amount of tunes. Sawano is a versatile composer.

I still can't get over how this game is being handled despite how much I'm hyped for it
Especially after Mario Kart and Smash showing how Nintendo is able to handle DLC well
The sad part is that I'm probably buying Birthright too and I hate myself for this

It's actually a bonus track from the OST. Not used in the game.

It's a remix of one of the game's songs, essentially a piano version.

The other OSTs are from anime. Sawano doesn't do a lot of video game music. XCX is the first time he worked on a game.

It's the same basic thing that made Quin Top as powerful as it was.
People just realized that his assets ended up working well in Jungle and ran with it.

I'm only going to buy Birthright as well. Oh, and the Anna DLC(and maybe 1 more/ 3DS theme if I have enough) . After the 4th I'll only have about £3-4 worth of eShop money and I am not planning to top up until the NX. Which I probably won't buy in the first year if it is the handheld.

The only vets I was worried are gonna be cut were Lucario and Ike, but that was 2013/early 2014 where I was still new to speculation.

Looking back, should have been worried about certain Poke Trainer characters instead. At the very least it would make me feel better eventually if I supported them outside of roster making. :/
