I mean, if it's legit, it DOES explain why the trophy count Sakurai gave us and the trophy count we counted didn't add up, but it's suspicious.

DLC was damn good IMO. Mewtwo and Lucas were two of the most popular veterans that people wanted back. Roy had some good popularity from Melee and making him must have been pretty easy. Ryu, Cloud and Bayo are all great third parties with cool movesets. Corrin looks cool too.

Of course. But don't assume that's what I'm doing. I can bet that no matter what character could have won, they would not have more than 10% of the votes.

Uber popular is a phrase more fitting of Ryu and Cloud levels of popularity, though.

It's just incredibly poor placement of the term. Uber implies a huge extreme, like it's top of the class.

This is also a good guess. If a legendary Pokemon is to be added, it would have to be one of these two. I wonder if Zygarde or Volcanion came across Sakurai's radar of possible DLC characters, but due to timing and also moveset, he thought it would be best to leave them as a pokeball item.
