This is true. Some people go as far as calling him worse than Roy (a point that hollowknite fanboy spouts a lot) due to his/her whinny moments and habit of being taken advantage of. But for spoiler reasons, it's best not to go into the specifics.

The west has complained about Corrin largely due to Smash and their toxicity over Fates as a whole.
That's from my experience, at least.
