The thing is the inclusion of wavedashing would have had no detrimental effect on the casual players. The removal of wavedashing is the equivalent of removing depth, so it makes it harder for Brawl to turn out as a competitive game. It's future lies in accident now, and the hope that we, as the players, find more glitches and exploits to furthur the competitive aspect of Smash.
Now this is actually QFT

Excuse my slowness, but I have something to say:

The inclusion of wavedashing has a HUGE detrimental effect on all players other than competitive. Some of us don't WD and dislike it, but can we go to tourneys? No. They're all FD, no-item, Marth/Sheik/Fox-fests, where there is nothing visible beyond a large cloud of dust behind a crouching character as you get owned. For those who don't wavedash, they are given no choice. You either wavedash or cannot go to a tourney.
LMFAO!

Oh yea and to the people saying "this isnt melee to stfu" and things like that. How do you know there will be hard, new advanced techs? You don't know that. So we should at least be semi-worried.
