There hasn't been anything announced, but it isn't impossible. If there was, though, it would play similar to Wii-remote control on Brawl, with the obvious benefit of a separate jump button and shoulder buttons for the shield. Is there a chance? Has Nintendo annouced any thing?

link please(SSB was originally planned for the SNES, so 2D graphics are a possibility)
Why would it make that much of a difference...I use to think that about other games that came to the DS/ GBA, etc.If we do get a SSBDS, it most likely wont be anytime soon. BTW the SSB series seems like a console game, not a hand-held game.
On the ds, no. On the next nintendo handheld that uses some form of an analog stick, yes. You can't play smash right without an analog stick, anybody that tells you otherwise is wrong.
link please
Oh hell, I thought you were joking...As much as I want it, I don't really see it happening.
Of course, I said that same thing about Guitar Hero DS.
What would be bad in any way to have a Smash on the DS if they could and wanted to?i wouldnt even want them to make it, or even think about making it. that would be disgusting (in a bad way).

Guitar Hero DS!!! WTF?
...I just may buy that though
it could happenI think I would break my DS from all the button smashing and L/R action.
Oh yeah, 'course. Like Super Mario 64, and Diddy Kong Racing, yeah?the SSB series seems like a console game, not a hand-held game.

Why would it have to use 2D graphics though?SSBDS would be great, using 2D graphics.
They could use only handheld characters, justifying the game.
