• I find it quite the pet peeve people have to qualify actions as "unironic" when they just mean "seriously" or "not jokingly" or "non-sarcastically"... well, you get the idea. Not that it's incorrect, but it seems people have long since abused "ironic" to the point where "I don't really like the show, I'm sarcastic about it as a form of satire towards that show's fans" is synonymous with "OH HEY GUYS I'M IRONIC SO EDGY RIGHT?!" Yeesh.
• There are some people that get non-un-anti-"ironic"-ex-facto-extremo-durkadurka furious when they hear the word "competitive" and the phrase "Melee rocks"...

I've never met anyone who has said that. People are fine with you playing smash however you'd like, so long as you aren't telling other people their way is wrong.

I'll be honest: I don't like shooter games. It's not because they're bad games, however.
The player base of certain popular FPS games (not going to say names) is actually obnoxious enough to ruin the game's appeal entirely, though.

It's one thing if the fan/player base of a game/show/movie/cult/demonic presence is intolerable, but it's another if said base ruins the appeal of said object-of-baselitude. ()

I can admit that I've had fun playing FPS games. TF2 is a big one. Hell, I even liked COD4, but I only played COD in single player campaign mode.

Not on youtube or recorded, but let me describe them for you.

On Giant Melee on Brinstar (with Super Mushrooms on Very High), if you choose anyone heavier than Peach, you drown from the lava. And by drown, I mean slowly go down and listen to your character scream in terror as they slowly meet their inevitable demise. The two played one round, and they went double Marth, and the former lost via two SD's on techs he couldn't time right because of being Giant Giant Marth!

And the two people playing in question were Shroomed and Mango btw. SFAT played a few rounds as well, lol. Hungrybox might have as well, but that part is shady. I remember him cheering on the matches though.

Also, I like shooters, but mostly on the PC. My favorites are Counter-Strike (all of them, except the new one because I haven't played it) and TF2. I also enjoy Doom 1 and 2, the first few Quake games, Halo (specifically 1, 3, and Reach), and a couple of Unreal Tournament games.

For a competitive player, yes.

Others prefer chaotic stages.
