Diddy was the best thing in Brawl. And I mean that quite litterally.

I've actually been playing Melee a lot recently, for the first time in quite a while.

I'm just now starting to get used to the physics. I was such a Smash noob that I never even tried dodging until I started playing Brawl online. XD

Doesn't matter, Smash is Smash. Which means every installment was awesome
Brawl is not awesome at a competitive level; it is boring, stale, and too camping and stalling-based.

Plus Meta Knight is ridiculously OP (although to be fair, so is Pikachu in Smash 64, but Isai is even more broken).

Other than that though I guess Brawl is fun, but IMO nowhere near as fun the previous 2 games, even as a casual game.

What context are you using 'best' in? Gameplay wise, Melee wins hands down, content wise, Brawl obviously wins. But as we all know, gameplay comes first.

To be fair, Taco Bell isn't Mexican food. Even they put on their signs "Mexican inspired food".

Not sure if I like tacos much, but man. I sure do love absolutely everything that Taco Bell has ever made.

Also, this has never seemed more relevant.
I HAVE NOTHING

Melee had more and better single-player modes, too. The event matches, adventure mode, break the targets, and heck, even the classic mode was better in Melee.

You could also have more items on the screen in Melee than Brawl.

Since nobody took my compromise for no Impa debates I offer this question:

Would you take Melee with Impa over Brawl without Impa?

There's no reason to compare the Smash games. They're all good in their own right. End of story. :smirk:
NO WE MUST HAVE POINTLESS ******** ABOUT WHICH GAME IS BETTER BECAUSE WE NEED TO FEEL BETTER ABOUT OURSELVES AND RUIN EVERY OTHER DISCUSSION BECAUSE YOUR OPINION IS **** NYARGLEBLARGLE

I'm still hoping we'll get a King of the Hill mode, that would be fun online.
King of the Hill would be a freaking awesome game mode.

A handicapped 1 vs. 2, 1 vs. 3, and 1 vs. 1 vs. 2 mode would be nice, too.

Oh, and a "capture the flag mode."

While we're at it, bonus mode should come back, but it should be more based on actual "style" while still making the combat matter.

Brawl's the best doe.
Apparently you didn't read what I just said. No, it's only the best for some. 64 > Melee > Brawl for me.

I like the new content added, but the balance gets worse each game. None were balanced too well, although 64 had a good array of characters overall, with none beyond overglaring in random courses. Of course, top-level play is another story. XD

64 was the one I was looking the most forward to, but Melee is the one I played the most

I didn't have the opportunity to play Brawl that much, especially against other people

Being completely honest, I think both Smash 64 and Melee are more competitive than Brawl. However, I still believe that Brawl is a good competitive game and the most awesome competitive set I've seen so far is a Brawl set (Mew2king vs Salem Apex 2013 Grand finals). If you haven't seen that match, please do. Anyways, the big factors that are holding Brawl as a Melee level competitive game is Tripping (which you can't do anything about) and Metaknight (Which you can do something about). I've discussed the Metaknight MU on this thread yesterday and how he isn't that OP of a character. He definitely is an overpowered character, but he's overrated in my opinion.

Oh, you're one of those people.
You say that like I'm a cancer. Also, 140k people watched the Evo stream with me, and hundreds of thousands of more followed the results.

But hey, if you prefer to treat people like trash because they enjoy playing the game in a competitive environment, then this isn't the place for you.

In fact, GameFAQs and 4chan might want you back. ;)

To be fair, I watched it and I preffer Brawl over Melee. Pretty sure there are other people like that who saw it despite Brawl/64 being their favorite game in the series.

I saw that match, and it was still boring. Too much camping, stalling, and waiting. I wanna get in there and beat the snot out of people with well timed spaced and offensive maneuvering, not go back and forth. With Brawl, everyone just waited for me to come to them, and punished me. Because I didn't want to conform to camping, I quit, and a bunch of NorCal Brawl players did too, and we left for Melee, and never looked back.

And Brawl is definitely much inferior to Smash 64 and Melee as a competitive game (and I'd argue a casual game as well).

To be honest, you're the one acting like a jerk here right now.

There is nothing wrong with Competitive Brawl at all. Let them enjoy it in peace.

All 3 games are definitely competitive AND casual, and there's nothing wrong with it.

@Denma: MK is that OP, actually. Remember, he seems weaker because the rulesets are catered to make him weaker than the rest. He shouldn't need less Ledge Grabs at all. Either everybody gets the same, or everybody should get a different amount catered to them. If he wasn't OP at all, there would be zero rules to nerf him existing. Yet there are. That does show he's not as overrated as people think.

No, he talked down to me because I played competitive smash, despite the fact he's on the competitive smash headquarters site.

That's not even what I was referring to with that post, anyways. I was talking about competitive play as a whole. I wasn't attacking competitive Brawl at all in that post.

Isn't all of Super Smash Bros already a King of the Hill game? The whole purpose is to knock people off the stage
Not exactly. The purpose of King of the Hill is to defend a particular area, sure you'll still have to knock them off, but you'll have to stay at the one area, and K.Oing people won't matter.
