I don't see where people are getting the idea that Mega Man is well-equipped to dominate melee-range fighters. Sure, he's got projectiles up the wazoo, but so far, he doesn't seem fast enough to keep constantly on the run, and doesn't seem to have any strong getaway moves with which to throw off rushdown attackers (like a 360 N-Air or something). The Rush recovery also seems relatively gimpable. Seems as though, if a character can keep the pressure up, Mega Man's in deep trouble.
For me, it has more to do with the speed of his projectiles, not his actual movement speed. He certainly doesn't seem like the fastest character, but he doesn't seem horribly slow either. His Jab and Nair look like they come out pretty faster and look like they have minimal hitstun. If he is sending out so many little shots at the opponent it's gonna be hard for them to keep up.

So basically Sonic is going to be one of MegaMan's worst match-ups? Because there's very few characters that can keep pressure on an opponent like Sonic can (I'd know, I'm a Sonic main, and he's a fantastic character for not giving your opponent an inch of breathing room)

Caveat of us not knowing the details of character balance yet, yeah, Sonic definitely might be. Thing is, however fast Mega Man's projectiles are, he needs space between himself and his opponents if he's gonna get off more than one, two, or three shots. If a fast opponent gets past those, they have essentially an open target who only possesses a single melee-range uppercut and a grab (as far as we know). If he's facing a slower opponent, or can continually knock his foe away and pepper them while they recover, he'll be in better shape.

Well, from what I've seen of MegaMan, if an opponent gets too close, his slide kick looks to be a good alternative to try and attack the opponent, or the Leaf Shield, since its start up time looks fairly quick. However, the problem I see with the Mega Buster shots overall is that they have incredibly poor knockback, and act more like a on-spot stun than actually delivering knockback. If anything, MegaMan looks to be a character that can easily rack up damage but not have alot of overall KO potential.

I still want to know what Megaman's pummel is. I'm pretty sure we haven't seen it yet.

Now that I think about it, we haven't seen Mega Man's throws either...
We've seen two. Both of them were references towards the Super Arm from Megaman 1. Also did someone ask about Megaman's Forward-A? I'm pretty sure that's the Buster Shot, but he runs forward. I could be wrong about that though. But that Lucario Pic with Megaman makes it seem like he could have a new attack, so for all we know, he moveset could have been tweaked.

The Mega Buster is his F-tilt. It's just how Megaman is...

Nah, it'll be Brendan.
we didn't even get 3rd gen pokemon in Brawl so why should gen 3 get priority in Smash 4 :dr^_^:
also the only good gen 3 starter is Mudkip :smirk:

Edit: sorry about all the spelling errors I have used this keyboard since 2001

Blaziken the pokemon that started the Fire/Fighting thing :urg:
I want my pokemon to look like monsters not some skinny human :drflip:
To be fair, the monster originally looked like this:

But who wouldn't want one? Look at it, it's was, and still is, the best...

agreed. gen 2 is the only one without any notable candidates for playable status. so a pkmn trainer is next best thing

We're talking Gen 3? Because Blaziken is my favorite Pokemon. Kind of annoyed I wasn't able to get Pokemon Y when they gave away that special Torchic. But I guess I can always get a traded one and hatch an egg. Or something along those lines.

Also here's this.

I can breed mine and give it to you if you want me to. I'm not sure how to have it keeps it's ability though.

it has to be female to keep it's ability

Females usually keep the ability. so a female blaziken would most likely keep it.

males have a lower rate, you'll have to keep breeding until it shows up.

everstones only cover nature.
