The only thing that bugged me was that they did not implement the baby changing mechanic very well. And Baby Wario's crying actually IS annoying.
Hahahahaha, yea, agreed on the Wario thing. The baby-changing mechanic was fine for me. If there's anything to complain about, it's the soundtrack (as mentioned a few posts ago). It's not by any means bad, it's just not varied or exciting at all. It's still pretty cute though.

If there aren't any sprites I'm not interested. The artistic value of games these days is severely unappreciated. That's why I stopped playing Pokemon X and Y.
Pretentious much?

Polygons don't detract from the artistic value of games. The artistic value of a game depends on the actual design of everything aesthetically (and the music and writing and whatnot). Whether a game is more or less artistically sound isn't dependent on whether it's through sprites or polygons, it's just how they're implemented to render everything.

And in the case of Pokemon X and Y in particular, they're actually more artistically involved games than any past entry in the series. Not only is the game visually superior (not due to the superficial notion of polygons>sprites but the superior art direction), but it has instrumental music and great animation too. That's just my opinion, but I'd say it's pretty silly to give up on a game for using polygons.

So you're basically saying that my personal taste are ridiculous and you're calling me pretentious? Yeah...whatever dude.

I draw. I happen to like things that look hand drawn. Sue me .

Aaaalright, whatever.

I was just explaining my reasoning.

I think it's silly and kinda pretentious to dismiss a game for using polygons and say that people don't value stuff as much anymore

Naw, the calling you pretentious was directed at you saying the artistic value in games is severely underappreciated these days.

And I don't care if you like X or Y at all.

I was just explaining that polygonal games aren't any worse but if you dont wanna play a polygonal game, then whatever.

Uh, I bought the damn game, I can dismiss it for whatever reason I see fit. I don't like the art direction. It's a low resolution Pokemon Stadium. Models have no personality for the most part and just stand idle , it's boring to me. Now everyone is going to have to wait for Pokemon Z for the alterations in the game that should have been there in the first place.

I can see how it can come off as pretentious but designers could do a much better job when implementing 2D with 3D. The game Guilty Gear Xrd is a great example of how you can accomplish both seamlessly.

I'm not even arguing that at all anymore. I said it's fine, really. I don't care.

I'm just saying now that large generalizations such as saying that people don't appreciate the artistic value in games anymore is pretty silly.

A lot of people do.

It's all good. I don't care much either, I'm just bored here on a Saturday with no Party/Girl/Beer/Kush so I'm just being a ****.

Yoshi's Island was an amazing looking game though. Just unbelievably well done for its time.

Hahahaha, same.

Yea, it's such a charming game.

The new one does look a lot uglier though.

I'm probably gonna get a lot of hate for this too, but it reminds me of a Link Between Worlds (I didn't think Link Between Worlds was a pretty game.)

Yoshi's Island, Yoshi's Story and Yoshi's Island DS were all pretty good games. All of them had a great artsyle as well.

Yoshi's New Island looks like the gameplay will be great, and that trailer music is pretty catchy. The artsyle looks a bit strange though. It kinda reminds me of Dream Team actually.

Regardless, I want to try the game out. I have a feeling it'll be good!

Yeah, A Link between worlds is kinda ugly.

Know what would be cool? An old school 2D Metroid game with HD sprites.

(and NOTHING like Other M)
Eh. I dunno.

Other M's core gameplay had potential.

That and it was the only great thing Other M had to offer...

So...

Keep the gameplay...

Nothing else.....

Dudes...yes, seriously yes. Primes were amazing. Both Metroid Prime 1 and Metroid Fusion scared the **** out of me.
You wanna know what scared me as a kid?

FREAKING SA-X AND CHOZO GHOSTS!

And you wanna know what scared me as a teen?

Those damn Metroid Labs in Prime 3 with those damn jumpscares... T.T

The combat's too simple imo. Also, Other M didn't have much exploration
I said potential.

The Other M gameplay formula isn't terrible and with some tweaks here and there and with better level design I think it could be outstanding.

Holy ****.... Prime 3 came out 6 1/2 years ago... That's crazy.

Yea, that last space ship you had to visit in Prime 3 was the creepiest.

I'll never understand why they put jumpscares in a Metroid game....

I guess they had to for Prime 3, since it was the least creepy, they had to compensate somehow.
I disagree.

Seeing your friends turn on you and the atmosphere of the labs was creepy enough.

They didn't need jumpscares.

True.
It's just all a lot more colorful and vibrant though.

The only thing I didn't like about MP3 was the voice-acting doe. It's really mediocre and egh.

I admit to being creeped out by Ghozo Ghosts too when much younger, especially when the Sunchamber where you fought Flaahgra became all dark and blackened by their presence. Always avoided fighting 'em during that time if I could thanks to the eerie music. Granted, it's a common practice for speedrunning anyway.

Then there was when I got the thermal visor for the first time, not knowing how it worked at first and being all freaked out when all the lights were turned off and there was nothing but sentry drones and invisible/shadow pirates coming at me.

As for Other M's gameplay, yeah. I'm okay with it too, aside from maybe not being able to move when in 1st person mode and having to stand around like a derpwad, and they could've given some kind of hint system or something for the pixel hunts, but other than that it was fine. Probably the game that made like the best use of the ice beam.

I just watched an episode of Soul Eater for the first time.

It was kind of strange, but it also seems rather interesting, so I might try checking out a few more episodes and see if they keep me interested.

One Piece seems interesting too.

Soul Eater starts kinda strangely, but gets interesting later on. The first three episodes are meant to introduce the protagonists before getting to the main story.

The anime and manga have differing storylines from a certain point, so I recommend reading the manga too. (The manga was still ongoing and the anime producers decided to make their own ending instead of leaving the story unfinished.)

I really wish this would occur more often, because many long running seasons tend to suffer from quality when it's trying to keep up with the manga.

You're talking about fillers, right? Yeah, a lot of people dislike them, though you could just skip them, I guess...

Although, I'd like to see a new Soul Eater anime that follows the manga entirely, now that it is finished. Something similar happened with Full Metal Alchemist (speaking of which, I need to watch/read this one too).

If we're talking anime, I'm watching Watamote.

It's... Strange.
Is there an anime series that isn't strange?

Anyway, the current ongoing manga I'm reading are Assassination Classroom and Fairy Tail.

Not watching any anime at the moment, save for the occasional Fairy Tail episode. (I've watched 68 episodes so far.)

Hence why I avoid animes with more than 100 episodes. Usually it turns sour.

Which is a classic case of quality over quantity.

Producing animation takes a lot of man power, there is animation, story, music, sound effects, coloring, acting, and so on with a typical show. Which may not sound like much, but it adds up fast. For a quick short, this is hardly an issue. But for long lasting series, this type of thing will eventually strain on the quality and ideas start to run dry. Hence why long running series like Bleach and Naruto tend to have noticeable drops in animation and a lot of filler.

I agree here.

My favorite animes are usually short ones, ones that don't have more than 30 episodes.
