What's the deal with the screenshot on Smash Bros. dot Com today? Like, there's a giant flaming "x" on the screen jacking everybody up. I don't think it's a final smash, because it doesn't make sense for any of the characters shown, and the background isn't darkened as much as it would be if someone was using one. Is it an item?? Or did I totally miss something?

I really hope we get a new Mario-series(I don't mean DK/Wario/Yoshi either) character for For. Toad would be nice. I'm good with Bowser Jr. or Waluigi though too. Not so fine with Paper Mario or Geno(namely because Geno's third party and would take up that slot... which is limited). As for Paper Mario, that would already be another Mario, and would possibly not even get its own Symbol. Likewise, I'm sure if we could have an RPG rep, they can do a little better, say, Cackletta. Or Kammy Koopa.

I hope we get Toad as a starter and Boswer Jr./Waluigi as an unlockable. Sadly, having 6 Mario reps is very unlikely. Don't know if we'll even get back to 5 like in Melee.

I'd actually take Toad for starter, and Bowser Jr.(with Shadow Mario) for the unlockable. To note, Waluigi's my favorite of the four noted characters among this overall post. However, his importance to the Mario series is laughable. Likewise, Toad has a huge presence in the Sports/Kart games, so he does well to rep them too. Jr. does a great job repping a new Villain for the main series. Waluigi is technically a villain(at least in more than one game), but mostly an antagonist, and does have an importance to the Sports/Kart games, but that's all he'd rep.

Personally I can't find much excitement for any potential mario rep though I guess if I had to pick it'd be Bowser Jr, the best squirtle clone ever =D

BLASTOISE FOR SMASH! Damn it, Charizard vs Blastoise is one of the MOST hyped rivallities between Pokémon, since the beginning of the series even. It was always them on promotion art during it out. Even in games itself, as Pokémon Stadium. Damn it, would it be awesome to have both in Smash...

Also, when that remix started, and Oak held his hand up high, and the screen began flashing... That was a moment I thought this Oak might be DJ Oak instead of Proffesor Oak.

Super smash bros is SUPPOSED to be balanced. If we used canon logic Ganon would destroy EVERYBODY but instead... He's you know where... :3

Toad and Waluigi are the only ones I'd like to see out of those, but I don't really care if Mario gets any more reps, and I'd rather Waluigi be Wario's partner (that is, against the odds, he would be a Wario rep. It's possible, so please don't argue about it). I also dislike the idea of two Marios again, even if one is made of paper, that being said, I wouldn't have any regrets if Toon Link gets cut, yet I'd still like to see him if he gets a completely revamped moveset more akin to his own appearances. Even though he's a second Link, he's a legitimately different character in his own universe, not even related to the major Links by blood, so it isn't too bad. The only other franchise I could see getting five characters besides Mario would be Pokemon, keeping everyone from Brawl and adding Mewtwo back, and by everyone, I do mean Pokemon Trainer with the same Pokemon. He could have a costume change that would make him a female trainer with a different voice, then he could truly be the "generic avatar" character. The only two newcomers I see as shoe-ins are Ridley and K. Rool, and if those two don't make it this time then... We'll probably get a few more newcomer franchises and one or two extra reps for existing ones, I don't think Sakurai will pass up giving Kid Icarus a second rep.

Pit (simply because he can't die.)

Wii Fit is one of the best-selling games. Wii Fit Trainer is the main character of it.(that's defined, not a Mii who span multiple games) She actually is pretty important overall.

And yeah, that's what I mean. That's also why I noted Kammy and Cackletta. They're both quite important characters in the Mario rpg's. Paper Mario is too, but unlike Dr. Mario who may or may not be the actual Mario(Sakurai's statement is that he doesn't consider Dr. Mario in his vision of one of the roles that Mario plays, but he doesn't outright say "Dr. Mario and Mario are different people" either, making this a very vague statement that could go either), he's actually Mario, no questions asked. He's clearly a different interpretation, but yeah. I mean, so is Geno and Mallow, but they're third party.
