Yeah, that would allow for a long and effective combos, I fear it may be worse than that one area in Hyrule Temple.

We'll just have to wait and see. I'll try and get into competitive Smash, at least for the 4th game.

The first thing I'll be doing when I get smash is unlocking every stage and begin to write insanely thorough details on their mechanics. Yeah, while everyone is having fun, I'm gonna torture myself for the greater good. Hopefully I can get a team behind me though, and stages won't be a huge pain to unlock.

Don't joke, there was a VERY serious group arguing for its legality for quite some time. In all reality, it kinda fell under the Mario Bros Phenomena is which it actually IS competitive, but no one would show up if it was legal.
.. Oh. I didn't know it was that serious. Rumble Falls is by far and away my most hated stage.

See? It's just TOO hated to be legal, even though it could actually foster competitive play. it's freaky... I wouldn't argue for it's legality though even with my really liberal mindset. It is "just too different" for me.

Are friends still able to play locally for games they don't have? that could be another pro for 3DS

I don't think that it would be possible. DS Download is still how you can play multiplayer with 1 game, right? I don't think that having to download all the stages and characters would be viable. Possible, but not viable. I probably don't know what I'm talking about here. I mean, I hope that it doesn't pull a Mario Kart DS on me and give me a generic character that sucks. And what about all the different stages? Maybe they could pick out a few or something.. but I don't know.

I don't know, but my friend and I always used to play games like that on our old DS's. :)
You only need 1 copy of the game to play with 7 friends.
So i would assume a similar thing will be down with smash where 1 person can own the game and 3 other friends can play, but only with a limited roster.
Local multiplayer works as well, and you can race against up to seven 3DS-owning friends via download-play even if you only have one Mario Kart 7 cartridge.

What are the rules for a stage to be competitively legal?
I tried looking for actual rules, but I think its just that stages are legal if they don't have gimmicks that help or hinder the gameplay. So, stages like Battlefield, FD, and smashville are legal. And big stages are deemed banned due to their camping.

And on that local one-catridge thing,I think BattleField,Final Destination and a bunch of other simple stages will be chosable. And the limited roster should at least have Mario,Link,Kirby and Pikachu.Because the real problem is,how many characters for the players without catridges?

Do the spikes on Rumble Fall count though?

Why not just the starters in the roster and the starter stages?

That seems to be the easiest solution.

Not only that, but I think the scrolling counts too.

How about I add one more to the list! :awesome:
*Gives you one more.*
I had 400 by the time I was finished. <\3 And 20 more by the time I woke up.

Good to have you back.
Gratitude. And I must say, given my background in fics/shipping galore, I love your new avi.

I wonder who would actually be good to pair with ROB... Those tragic "last of their kind" types need someone that gives them hope for their future, usually.
As mentioned above, I've done extensive research on shipping absolutely everything. I thought Rotom was an obvious choice.

John's a yoai fangirl? I knew something was off about him. :awesome:
Cargo Shipping doesn't fall under Yaoi jurisdiction. :glare:

Man... You have a LOT to learn on this one.

I'll give it to you in an extremely simplified format. There are two sides to the thought process, conservative and liberal. Conservatives are the ones with stages that are as static as possible. Liberals want a larger stagelist, and site how other fighting games work in terms of bans made.

It really does involve a LOT to learn, I've been reading hundreds of pages just to get as much info as can to be ready for the next smash... It wont be pretty if the debates are like they were last time.

So I'm guessing that the tree can be hit by opponents and possibly be used against the villager depending on who knocks the tree down.
Do we have any confirmation that we can pass through the Villager's tree? or does it act as a makeshift wall???

I would have honestly loved if only the Villager could completely chop down the tree, and all the other characters could only jump over it, as if it were apart of the stage.

Whats the difference between Liberal and Conservative posters? (Retaining to Smash boards, that is)

In general:
conservative = less stages
liberal = more stages

The reason this happens though is because of how they want to play the game. Conservatives generally want as little stage interference as possible, so they have less stages to work with while liberals wants to keep the game as close to its original stage as possible and find that stage knowledge and using it is a vital skill of smash end up with more legal. Generally, it's an innocent until proven guilty thing for liberal smashers: unless the stage is 100% game breaking, it stays legal.

(Minus miracle cases at time, the Mario Bros. Phenomena)

No problem being in the middle, it's not a bad place to be. Personally, I know I lean more towards liberal, but even I want to knock off a few stages they'll defend to the death. I'm probably... left leaning then? XD

However, I really do want both sides to exist instead of the insane squabbling that happened last time. I'll advocate that over anything.

Hey guys, played against the Swiss community today and they were quite good. 7 victories and 2 losses (both against a G&W) with my Zero suit, I realized that I had no experience whatsoever against G&W. The only problem they faced were ZSS's down smash which catches you off guard and can land a 40ish% if landed and combo-ed with SH buffered aerials. Shoutouts to the French/Swiss community, they were awesome, played well, were funny, and were quite welcoming. Looking forward to re-brawling them again and brawling other communities (Germany next perhaps?).

Do you guys want to share any Smash experience you had with other community? What happened? Did you expect to win/lose? Why? etc.

From the picture it looks like Olimar threw a Yellow Pikmin to topple over the tree. So it looks like other characters can cause the tree to topple over.
Or maybe the Villager was quickly knocked out of the picture after he began to chop the tree down.

Sounds like Capps and I could've helped train you against G&W.

I have my opinions about certain maps - I get easily distracted because of a "drifting eye" thing I get when I play video games or stare at something toO long (and I have the attention span of a gnat). Therefore, maps can become easily distractive to me. Additionally, if a map can literally kill you, I dislike the map. However, I do like a big, diverse pool of stages with which to play on. If I play the same stage for too long, I get bored.

So yeah, thanks for showing this to me. :)

What was the legal stagelist? It's been a long time since I got to play Swiss stagelist, did any of them actually take you to Mario Bros? A few players there know that stage. XD

I once played in a place with Hannenbow legal... It was... Bad :p

Hey no problem! If you study the stuff, join stage debates. I'm planning on gathering a team to study stages for in depth guides as I mentioned before, and I want people on all sides to be able to look at stages, especially people in the middle to help with compromising.

Yes, sure, ehhh, meh
Sure, Sure, I guess, Sure
Ehhhh, ehhh, YES, -_-

Hmmm though these responses show that 2 is probably the best but Ridley and Mewtwo are EASILY two of my most wanted characters ;-; but I pick 2 I guess.

Group 2 for me. Little Mac's one of my most wanted, as are Isaac and Takamaru. Though Group 1 gives it a run for its money.
