I’m almost in that same boat as you too, but I also don’t expect anything either. That doesn’t mean I will stop my campaign to get Golden Sun back and get Isaac in the Smash Roster.

Imagine someone like PewDiePie would say how much he would like the series to return and have Isaac in Smash. Which in turn would get millions of people to help campaign for it to happen. *sigh* What a dream that would be...

If you want my honest opinion. No. I think we have a better chance of getting a new Golden Sun game at this point. And that’s what I’ll push for.

It helps that we got informed of that info from Polar about Nintendo being shocked at the backlash towards Isaac. At least there's closure on whether Nintendo actually knows about the want for Isaac (even if that came from a combination of reactions and angry tweets/phone calls, oh well, can't control them all). There's really nothing more to do in that regard, Nintendo knows at least. It's just a waiting game to whether that'll amount to anything for this iteration of Smash.

We already know what not to do, crawl into a dark abyss and never talk about Golden Sun till the next Smash. Also now that Nintendo got wind of the backlash, we also don't want them to assume, well they're just angry in regards to him not being in Smash, this isn't the same audience that'd be interested in a new Golden Sun game or whatever. Which is why I'm really on board the letter writing campaign.

One, so their last impression of the Golden Sun fanbase is not the memory of how ballistic they were over Isaac not being playble in Ultimate. Two, when they receive the letters they'll see that it's not just a 'Smash phase' and that we genuinely just want one of our favorite series back, since it may be one of the first times where they see talk of Golden Sun doesn't start and end with Smash.

Which we'll really need more than like ten of us to send letters, for that bigger impact lol.

Yup. That’s my feeling as well. Im not going to say anything is concrete, but what we have gotten gives us reason to believe that something Golden Sun related might be happening. I don’t think we should count anything out of the question.

Also, in terms of the whole assists thing, people need to remember that this is the first time Nintendo has had definitive data on who is wanted, and has admitted to using it publicly. As such, I don’t think we can treat assists and the like in the same way as we have before. People would be upset if a heavily requested character in the ballot wasn’t in at all, wouldn’t they? Because of this, I don’t think assists and costumes and all that are the end all be all this time around, and we shouldn’t ignore the possibility that they could end up in DLC. Optimistic? Yes. Unrealistic? I don’t think so.

Golden Sun (new game or remake, preferably the former)

Mother (Mother 3 translated or the 3 games in the series remade, preferably the latter)

Super Mario RPG (remake or sequel, I am fine with either)

I think we need a remake of the GBA games first.

To be fair, they aren't full of "point of no returns", a huge problem with Dark Dawn.

I do agree the first two should be remade, but there's good reasons to remake the one game that has actual issues with its overall design.

The main things that definitely need to change in Dark Dawn is obviously the “points of no return” and probably up the difficulty. Other than that, I don’t really have any other complaints to Dark Dawn as I still love it. I feel like what really hurt the GS franchise is fans (and possibly non-fans riding the hate train) keep shooting down Dark Dawn way too much. We really need to change that attitude!

Now, I’m not saying Dark Dawn is free from criticism, but it shouldn’t be treated so harshly as it is (except the PonR stuff. lol). This is just my personal opinion, but I have always felt that the Takahashi Bros. want to continue where they left off in DD but our attitude/hate towards it might be sending the wrong message to them that we don’t want Golden Sun anymore. Which could possibly be the reason why we had almost no GS content in Smash 4. That’s just a theory though, but a good one to think about.

Thanks to the Ballot, Isaac must have done well enough to get us so much GS representation (and the most out of any non-fighter Rep series) in Smash Ultimate this time around. Either way, we need to treat Dark Dawn better than what it gets. You don’t have to like it, however. Everyone is different. But try to show that it’s still an important part of the Golden Sun series and many things can be improved from there.

You mean my signature? I think the user who made some of the artwork no longer does it, though. You can use change your signature by clicking on your username at the top right of your browser and select it via the drop down menu.

My actual bigger issue beyond the points of no return is the handling of some characters. Himi comes out of nowhere and is super underwhelming. What's the point of having Venus-only weapons, especially two no less, if you can't even have the only two Venus users use 'em. I can understand her not being allowed the usual heavy swords, but both of those swords should be usable by her. It's out first female Venus user, and they just have to make her on the weaker scale of characters. This wouldn't be a big deal if, again, those swords weren't Venus users only. Besides that, she barely has any characterization and is just literally a quick tool to beat the game. Elio is barely better, with all he really does at all is just give you a vehicle. He has a tiny bit of dialogue that fits his personality, but is super shallow. The other 6 are way better, at least. They come too far into the storyline to do more than feel like a deus ex machina. IMO, they need to rewrite the story a bit to not just add them earlier, but better balance the weapon distribution. As is, the characters feel extremely unbalanced in gameplay overall. Some just way too outrank others in their power. While others also get too much focus, like our Beastman with her Umbra Gear. Though that's at least done way better than how Himi and Elio are handled(and yes, I forgot how Elio was spelled).

It helps that we got informed of that info from Polar about Nintendo being shocked at the backlash towards Isaac. At least there's closure on whether Nintendo actually knows about the want for Isaac (even if that came from a combination of reactions and angry tweets/phone calls, oh well, can't control them all). There's really nothing more to do in that regard, Nintendo knows at least. It's just a waiting game to whether that'll amount to anything for this iteration of Smash.

We already know what not to do, crawl into a dark abyss and never talk about Golden Sun till the next Smash. Also now that Nintendo got wind of the backlash, we also don't want them to assume, well they're just angry in regards to him not being in Smash, this isn't the same audience that'd be interested in a new Golden Sun game or whatever. Which is why I'm really on board the letter writing campaign.

One, so their last impression of the Golden Sun fanbase is not the memory of how ballistic they were over Isaac not being playble in Ultimate. Two, when they receive the letters they'll see that it's not just a 'Smash phase' and that we genuinely just want one of our favorite series back, since it may be one of the first times where they see talk of Golden Sun doesn't start and end with Smash.

Which we'll really need more than like ten of us to send letters, for that bigger impact lol.

I feel they've seen our desire now we play the waiting game it's a new year ladies and gentlemen, hopefully we can make an impact ah hell who am I kidding we will make an impression a great one and hopefully with all that hard work we get everything but a mobile game because deep down I know Nintendo can screw this up somehow haha.
