Haha not to make it into some kind of competition but I remember people clamouring for Isaac when we hadn't yet received even Diddy Kong. Of course I'm old as dirt. xDI'm still partial to Beard Isaac, we have a critical lack of beards in Smash (mustaches don't count). I hope you guys finally get your character in the game. I know Isaac's fans have been waiting as long as K. Rool's has. I never really seen Isaac as much of "another swordsman" and more of being an earth bender, since earth magic is in short supply in Smash (got plenty of fire and lightning, and a bit of water and frost).

That's what everyone in the old thread wanted from Isaac. They wanted him to be a magic user with occasional use of his sword. When Robin came along, hoo boy, detractors made SURE to point out the similarities between him and our ideas. In all honesty though Robin uses some crazy amount of absurd spells. I don't think Isaac needs that absurd number of spells to be unique. He's got plenty of tricks up his sleeve to make him an awesome addition.I hope you guys finally get your character in the game. Diddy Kong is eternal and omnipresent. Are we talking Diddy Kong or Diddy Kong here? c:
Plus, in terms of GS, what Robin does is mostly Mars (fire)/Jupiter (air) adept stuff, while Isaac's specialty is as a Venus adept (Earth magic), which Robin doesn't touch at all, so the two needn't have any real overlap in that area.Sounds like a good reason to support Snake to me!

Maybe they can meet in the middle and give use teen Isaac with a beard?Oooooh we talking Golden Sun beards?
I'm also would be alright if we got older Isaac. Sure I would slightly disappointed if it's not Teen Isaac, but I would be pretty thankful if we get him in the first place.
I'm picturing that now and it looks.... strange. But it would take some while to getting used too.Maybe they can meet in the middle and give use teen Isaac with a beard?
I'm gonna have to put my foot down on this one. Full beard or no beard. No exceptions.I'm picturing that now and it looks.... strange. But it would take some while to getting used too.
Many college students can grow a nice beard in their age. But for Isaac, maybe give him a stubble or mini-beard and it would feel more natural.
Teenage beards are generally sad tho.Maybe they can meet in the middle and give use teen Isaac with a beard?
I do, I really do.
Haha I can see that. xPI got confused and thought you were talking about either Robin (Mercury Adept from GS:DD) or Robin (Isaac's Japanese name... unless it's Matthew's? I can't remember)
Once a supporter, always a supporter.lol. found myself on the supporter list. idk. also I think Ninty should try give Golden Sun another go as a eShop title. I might actually get into the series then since I like RPGs.
not a supporter for a long while pls don't kill me.
Yeah, and the deconfirmation didn't happen until right at the end too. Like, I think not until launch. :/I do, I really do.
And yes, Isaac had strong support way back during the speculation era of Brawl, I remember it greatly. It was such a shame to see him being deconfirmed too!
But yeah, much changed when came to play.
Eternal and omnipresent though? I like that... It's a cute way of saying I'm old as ****.

And all us pre-Brawlers are best left sat in creaky rocking chairs shaking our canes at the kids going on about some Daisy or Gen VII Pokemon or Ribbon Girl and remembering how things used to be when it seemed like it was the important characters getting in. And Chrono should be in a museum.
Yeah, well, at least Geno finally got thrown a bone. And I guess Ridley has as much of a role as you can hope for a character that isn't going to become playable. Meanwhile Isaac gets... nothing! But oh wait, there was a new GS song on a stage no one likes, lol. Fantastic.
He was so right though...
Chrono, Geno and Ridley... Those fanbases are basically the most unfortunate ever. I still don't really get how all these characters got so intensively passionate supporters who are / where hellbent on their character's inclusion but it was a fun show to watch.
I don't get it. She's literally there to be Peach-but-not-quite. Not saying she can't be unique but there are so many more interesting choices imo.The Daisy thread is currently the biggest support thread as well... Go figure.
I think our only hope at this point, without a new Golden Sun I mean, is considering how well he did in the ballot. I hear he was one of the top contenders along with K. Rool. That was all speculation, though. Maybe if we get newcomers they'll take the ballot runner-ups into account.Yeah, well, at least Geno finally got thrown a bone. And I meant @ChronoBound, not Crono the character. He's pre-Melee, they should make him a historical landmark. Though he doesn't come by anymore, I don't think, lol. Though I'd like to see Crono the character, that'd be neat.
Literally just said the same exact thing in the General Speculation Thread.I don't get it. She's literally there to be Peach-but-not-quite. Not saying she can't be unique but there are so many more interesting choices imo.
Agreed, sadly. Isaac seems to have performed well in the ballot from all we can tell, but the thing is, even with the narrower scope of consumers the ballot targeted, there is still likely a silent majority we are unaware of, and the silent majority is rarely ever in favour of Isaac.I think our only hope at this point, without a new Golden Sun I mean, is considering how well he did in the ballot. Lol, we sure did.Literally just said the same exact thing in the General Speculation Thread.
I question his logic when he spoke of people wanting a reboot of Golden Sun but then pointed to the sales of Zelda remastered ports. Gosh, we already have so much unnecessary confusion between the terms "remake" and "remaster" (even though they are clearly two different concepts) but now someone thinks that "reboot", and "remake" and "remaster" all mean the same thing? Good grief!Got sent this video. If you're a fan of the GS series, it's def worth a watch~
Yeah, Camelot has really deteriorated from what they used to be. During the GBA/Gamecube age they put out a Golf and Tennis game for both systems, AND two GS games. And the Gamecube entries were debatably the strongest in the series. Up until like the DS and Wii they were killing it. Maybe a lot of their talent went elsewhere.*sigh* The potential Golden Sun had... How it all poured down the drain, it's so sad honestly. I still have fond memories of the game, even though it was sometimes dialogue heavy, it at least helped you with imagining the world of Weyard, and got you thinking about the four elements and all that good stuff. What I liked is that Golden Sun was very philosophical. Shame I never got to play Dark Dawn (I would've bought the game if my DS didn't break down back before it was released, mind you).
The chances of the series being rebooted are slim I think. Unless Camelot gets to work on the franchise again and not make terrible Mario Sports games instead... I wonder what happened at Camelot honestly. They used to be so ambitious, and now they hardly make games anymore outside of Mario Tennis.
Game companies lose their luster when they have key people leave. Some recover, but others, like Rare & Platinum Games, fell apart.Yeah, Camelot has really deteriorated from what they used to be. Then too, though, Isaac's spells are VERY different from Robin's. With a primary basis in Earth Psynergy, his most likely spells are Quake, Growth, Spire, Gaia, etcetera... None of which have much in common with Robin's set. Even those spells which match up with Robin's, though, are very different. Fireball works very differently from Elfire. Elwind and Whirlwind aren't much alike. Etcetera.Sounds like a good reason to support Snake to me!
