Nairo-Salem was 1-2 by ZeRo Saga post-patch, pretty sure since then Salem's beaten Nairo twice and Nairo's beaten Salem twice

Today as a corrin main all of my dreams came true... Only to be shattered at the end. Literally if people literally STILL think at this point corrin has no results I will get a push pin and insta pin a Post-It note that says NO. No bamboozle.

ceo takeaways

1) leo once again solidifies his #2 ranking, running through dabuz, salem, ken, nairo, and larry in losers to make it to grands. notably, he busted out the corrin in a major top 8 for the first time, using it to defeat salem and take a game from zero before game 4's unfortunate finish. leo's practice with corrin is evident (he's probably the best corrin already), and i have a feeling that we'll be seeing more of it in the future, which will definitely be a boon toward that character's metagame. this was also notably a relatively marth-free tournament for leo, as he used cloud primarily in top 8 with some mk (for ken) and corrin (for salem and zero) mixed in and only won one set all tournament with marth, against zd in pools. i do think that his confidence in cloud will really end up paying dividends for leo, as we've seen in the past few tournaments, because cloud is a better character than marth/mk/corrin and leo makes so much out of cloud's punish game/spacing.

2) this was a very strong tournament for sonic. with ken in top 6, manny at 13th, and wrath at 13th, there were 3 sonics in top 16. 6wx also did fairly well, placing 17th and defeating tweek in the process. we really saw a number of different sonic styles flourish at this event, whether it be the precise, effective style of ken, patient style of wrath/manny, or more aggressive style of 6wx, showing the character's versatility and ability to succeed with multiple different playstyles. ken notably made his first top 8 at a north american major, defeating his sheik demon in dominant fashion against mr.r (as he did against void at msm earlier last week) as well as defeating falln and ranai in the process. he also certainly gave zero a run for him money, showing significant process in a matchup that ken has been relatively weak in for some time. the progress ken has shown in such a short period of time really bodes well for his next performance at evo.

other minor notes:
- bayo and zss did well, both finding their two best representatives in top 8. although they didn't actually perform that well in top 8, it is still a good showing for both characters. saj and lima also made top 32 for bayo.

- this was the tournament larry needed badly, especially after placing 33rd just last week. although zero and leo obliterated him in the end, wins over leo and nairo on his way to 3rd place showed notable signs of hope for someone who has had an iffy year overall.

- the caribbean showed up at this event, with headshot's samus, sharpy's charizard, and doom!'s rosalina making it into the top 64 at this event, accruing some solid wins along the way. for players with not much exposure or international experience, this is a pretty impressive showing, and i hope we can see more of them in the future.

- fairly lackluster showing from japan's best, with only ken making it into top 8 and kameme/komo/aba falling early. i still have full faith in those players, but this was not good for them. this also was mediocre for fatality, tweek, anti, and locus, players who really needed something out of this event for ranking purposes.

- some interesting characters performing well: raito's duck hunt with a sensational win over mr.r and near-win against dabuz for 13th, leet's wacky combination of puff/mii sword/mii brawler finding its way into top 64, ryo in top 32 with ike and roy, another ike (stilios) in top 64, two macs in top 64,
