I think Ron is the only Japanese player whose first overseas appearance wasn't in the US.

Seriously what is it with Bayo falling out of ZSS's boost kick and at the worst possible times too.

Doubles Clouds is ****ing ridiculous, and that's all I'm gonna say bluntly since it's not like the competitive thread for moderation.

Ugh.

Yeah, this is pretty much the space for free mood swings, emotional bursts and kneejerk reactions (as long as they relate to the current Smash events).

I'm pretty sure is related to her thin hurtbox frame. Funny enough, Cloud falls often, too.

But, on a positive note, Marss' Lucario had a really intriguing strategy I've never seen before in doubles that won him the set 3-2.

He intentionally SDs right away to be at 2 stocks,thus getting a power up based on the stock difference of his partner.

That's really cool and I can't believe it worked but...it did. Very very well.

He's had that strat for a while now, Beefy Smash Doods made a video on it.
Tbh, I find it a little too risky, but whatever gets you the win I suppose.

How long until we ban Cloud in doubles? Please? Can we get him out of here?
The main problem I saw was how any character's up throw leads to finishing touch. No amount of DI or SDI could save your skin.

Personally I think at the very least a "only one Cloud limit" a team clause is not unreasonable at this point

Bushaheen :4bowser: 3-1 Madara :4sheik:

The Middle East's #2 player (and the best middle eastern player at the event) already in losers.

KEN:4sonic:3-1 T:4link:. T played way better vs ken then he normally did. He's slowly improving vs sonic and his play in Dubai dojo looks a lot more polished.

That was a level of patience I haven't seen from T before.

Also, Tyroy :4bayonetta2: > VoiD :4sheik:

So the Bayo / Sheik MU now looks even at best. Despite how much it seems Sheik should have the advantage on paper..

9B :4bayonetta:3-0 T:4link:. 9B just countered T's style. He would have been better if he had a bit more patience but overall very impressive from him. Best I've seen him play since Civil War.

For whenever @Das Koopa does the results... Poyo went all Kirby today.

Last hurrah for his Kirby tho - transitioning to Lucina main in the future.

Feel kinda bad for Marss. First big major he attended in a while and in his hometown . and he runs into Zack in pools who always just destroys him whenever they meet.

So I am back from Shine. Below is my run in a spoiler for the curious.
Game7a1 :4gaw: 2-0 Plyr3 :4marth::4sheik: (I let him go to FD as Sheik. Whoops.)
Game7a1 :4gaw: 2-0 McLoud :4mario:
Game7a1 :4gaw::4jigglypuff: 0-2 Marss :4zss:
Game7a1 :4gaw: 2-0 Tarn :4feroy: (Funny enough, I eliminated him in round 2 pools in Shine 2016. Also a streamed match.)
Game7a1 :4jigglypuff: 1-2 Redeemer Z :4rob: (First game 3 of the day for me. Don't know why the bracket uses the check mark instead of the game count.)
Placing: 97th
I saw a lot (more than I expected) of NE and MA PR players get upsetted in round 1 pools (such as Ntarps, DM888, Tsage, and Chavo), so of which didn't go to round 2. If you need me to list them, I can. A bit in a rush right now.

Nice work man, rep those balloonweights! I'm curious as to why you went Jigglypuff for ROB instead of Game and Watch?

I saw Larry 2-1 Wadi when I was tuned in too. Wadi threw away the set by going ROb against Larry game 3. Like...what?
