I can.

And then not get hired.

Did you even read my post at all?

What part of me being in a shore town in the winter and spring for many months during a recession (all businesses are dead and not hiring) and then having to compete with the large amount of unemployed adults, some with college degrees, did you miss?
Are you stranded on somewhere dead in the winter and spring now?

No excuses. Like, I'm not trying to be an ******* right now, I'm just being honest.

You have no excuse. Stop blaming your misfortunes on other things. Your losses in smash [notable ones (that are recent that I know of) are to Orion, Minty, Nakat], your misfortunes while looking for jobs, and w/e else you're constantly johning about.

It isn't hard. You're just constantly johning (or at least that's what it seems like).

I think I missed the part about you constantly johning.

Wanna elucidate your point to me? I obviously missed it.

Actually, no, I'm done now lol.

Stop trying to educate me about life, child. You don't know what you're talking about. My situation has been explained. You can't just say "no excuses" to such a situation with regards to employment. Until recently, it was a dead shore area. I see the other applicants when I go for jobs. Now I'm competing with people that are double my age with degrees and way more experience. There's no way to win against that, plain and simple.

Your "honesty" stems from your ignorance because you're a child.

Lucas...you don't really need degrees and years of experience to get the types of jobs you're looking for...unless you're applying for...things that need degrees and years of experience to get...in that case...good luck?

Let me give you an example situation.

I've applied at 4 Aldi locations. That is a grocery store chain, btw. They start you at $11.25 per hour, so it's pretty competitive.

When I went to those stores, I saw my competition. It was largely people much older than me that could put down 10+ years of work experience on their applications with many more references. I have 1 year at Whole Foods Market and 3 years at a UPS Store. They all destroy me in experience.

Because so many adults are out of work, it's hard for younger people to get jobs right now.

I don't see why this is hard for you people to understand.

Employers prefer younger people who probably don't have kids or other distractions to pull them away.

LOL no they don't.

Given the choice between some adult with significantly more experience and no more schooling to worry about or a 21 year old with much less experience that is not done with school yet, who will a smart employer pick? There's a very high chance I could be only looking for summer employment, even if I say I want it to be permanent, and they know this.

The older person is the better choice.

Btw, these are things people like my parents and grandparents have told me, things I've noticed myself, and things I've read about. I remember an article in Time magazine about how kids are being ***** by adults when it comes to job hunting during the recession.

I truly hope you don't make those kinds of jobs your life's work. That's why I assumed you were looking for a summer job.

Aldi has that type of potential. $11.25 starting pay with a $4 boost if you become a shift manager and then another big raise if you become a store manager = career. You can even go from there to district/national stuff.

It would have been pretty cool to get the job at Aldi...

No...they have a place to write what you want your salary to be on job apps. Usually the best answer is "I know the salary range of this job and I am comfortable with that."

lol.

Btw, another reason employers would have to employ adults over kids is that the adults actually have families to feed. That money matters quite a bit more than whatever a younger person would have to pay off.

Stop being so jealous of me all the time, random.

I have some weird magic charm, I think. It makes people like me even though I dont have much to offer.
