After reading ALL of the comments I have come up with this interesting fact-
NOBODY'S favorite generation was the fourth. LOL

I guess Infernape made it THAT bad! ^.^

Mudkip IS the best starter theoretically. Swampert is effin AWESOME. Nothing beats him, but don't let him touch grass. Please.

I also can't hide my love for Squirtle and Charmander. Bulbasaur is great too, but probably my least favorite out of them.

The DPP starters aren't so good.

Infernape is really strong but its design is so stupid, a flaming tail? C'mon guys, Charmander and Magmar already have one. Get some ideas.

Torterra is nothing special, but then again none of the Grass starters are. Ice is awfully common in DPP, so he really isn't that useful compared to Infernape.

Empoleon look awesome, being a steel penguin says something. He's another bulky water, but sadly he doesn't do the job quite right like Suicune and Swampert do.

The GSC are the worst theoretically. But being from GSC, many people love em. Feraligatr and Typhlosion are cool while Meganium is really BAD, but still loveable.

How could you possibly say this? Stats aside, Blaziken is 10x cooler than Infernape.

ITS A FREAKING BADA** FLAME FIGHTING CHICKEN!!!

Also in terms of overall creativity and design, the torchic line was very creative while the chimchar line was the opposite.

Bulbasaur is my favorite, that plus, he can destroy the first 3 gyms. And if you train it correctly, it can play a major lead in the Elite Four.

I liked the first gen starters the best. Charizard and Venasuar were epic wins.

I disliked 4th gen the most. I loved Turtwig, but Chimchar and Piplup were not that interesting.
