i've always wondered about FD. a lot of marth players seem to like it. but if you really think about it marth doesn't seem to have any significant advantages on FD. it lacks platforms to help with avoiding projectiles that almost every other stage provides, not to mention that a lot of platforms provide an excellent reference for sweet spotting attacks. its average size doesn't provide marth with zoning advantages that smaller stages like Yoshi's Story and Battlefield do. i main marth and FD is my favorite stage to play on by far, but i can't come up with a good reason why.

Yoshi's Story I think is agreed to be the best Marth stage. Final Destination is good for chaingrabbing, I think.

Battlefield is nice, as is Pokemon Stadium.

I recall reading somewhere that Mute City was good as a counterpick against Sheik, but I'm not too sure about that.

Anyway, yeah, my favorite stages would be Final Destination and Yoshi's Story. It used to be Final D and Battlefield, but it's easier to ledgetech on YS.

Yoshis Story is probably the best Marth stage due to low platforms, easy gimping, and it's a small stage
edit: Mute City is a VERY good counter pick against Shiek, Fox, and Falco

Well I don't also know it all very right, but stages with platforms are the best if you ask me. Since marth can easy combo on those. Also when opponent is on a platform he can keep doing uptilt, hard to get out. Yoshi story is the best yea since the platforms are low there. Fountain of dreams doesn't work so well, since the platforms move. Battlefield also good, but everythings bit slower there and hax edge. Dreamland also good, but you got wind there and bit higher platform. The advantage in final destination is the easy chaingrab and you can combo a lot more at the edge or on the stage, since it's very long and a lot space outside the stage. And you don't have that at the other stages. Marth has one of the best recovery's, so that's also an advantage at FD, because there's a lot room outside the stage.

And yes marth own's at mute city vs fox, falco en sheik, because there are no edges. And marth has the least problems with that.

Well for me I think it's yoshi story because at the edge of the stage there got a slant so marth can easley use his down tilt on chracter like captain or ganon, also the stage is slightly smaller than other stages so when marth use his forward smash it's death. So I would choose yoshi story.

Personally I prefer Hyrule Temple, seeing as how Marth lacks a bit in the ability to jump. Also, him being a somewhat light character gives him the advantage if he doesn't want to fight out in the open but rather on the bottom half of HT. It's true that he's a close range character, which is why he can attack his foe from different angles on that stage, and him being as quick as he is only gives him a boost.

Please know that in tournament play this is a banned stage. Giving that good players can survive for upwards of 400% by just staying in that dirt tunnel (among other factors, like Fox).

Edit: Every neutral stage is pretty much good for Marth.

QFT

Marth may have advantages on some neutrals over others(YS, Battlefield) but he is indeed fine on every neutral stage.

Also, FD is great for Marth against certain characters. In fact, you could play against any character on FD with Marth and be fine. However, most of the time, a smart Marth player will pick YS before FD simply because of the obvious advantages to be abused there. I personally will choose YS against Fox/Falco. However, some players are very good on that stage with space animals so my next choice would be FD or Pokestad. Pokemon Stadium more for Falco seeing as you still have plats for gay tippers and avoiding lasers and yet there are areas where you can get a quick chain-throw going. FD can give you problems against Falco and Fox because of lasers and of course the dreaded Fox up-throw-uair.

final destination.

you can't be **** platform comboed/tech chased by sheik there, you get the cgs against the space animals, and you wreck peach so monstrously hard there that it's like amazing. so yeah. it's good. beyond that, jiggs loses a bunch of her platform homo rests and stuff, which is nice against good jiggs who can do that crap.

only characters that you don't want to see on fd with marth are like ic and falcon.

Probably playing TF2.
Vs spacies I CP FD because one grab = like a stocks worth of damage unless I mess up.

any stage with platforms that marths sword can go through, and that he can utilt or fsmash through is ultimately a good stage for marth. the only neutral stage that marth can't abuse his sword on is DL64, and even then he can still utilt, but barely.

All of the neutrals are good Marth stages, some moreso than others.

FD - chaingrabbing, extended horizontal combos (fair chains, etc.).
BF - shallow kill zones for spikes, platform tippers, edges don't screw Marth up as much as other characters
YS - shallow kill zones for spikes, short sides for tipper kills, platform tippers, small stage. However the sloped edges can make edgeguarding a little trickier.
PS - relatively short sides for tipper kills, platform tippers, extended horizontal combos.
FOD - depending on configuration, platform tippers, small stage
DL - extended horizontal combos is about it. Definitely the worst of the neutrals as the platforms don't really help Marth, and the sides are very long. Also Marth glitches during the end of the tree-blowing animation, cancelling his attacks. However the ceiling is high and Marth can live a pretty long time here. Plus the music makes me happy.

All the neutrals are good but it really depends on your style. I personally like larger stages because I like to move around a lot and there are more options for dash dance camping etc.

I personally prefer FoD since certain setups can really help get you random fsmashes or utilts and they screw up my brother's shuffling with falcon ^^.

Also, BF just seems to work well for me when I don't accidentally gimp myself lol.
