Everywhere except for the exact middle is the edge...

even reflect on side platforms put Jiggly in a really bad spot

Jiggly really can't attack above her, very easy to reflect her again all she can do is up-air (then she can't make it back), pound, which makes her really vulnerable, or jump back hoping she won't get hit again

hmmm....should this list have Battlefield and Metal Mario's stage as well? granted, they are hacked stages, but still, it'd be nice to know who has an advantage there.

I definitely considered that but I have never actually played on a hacked stage, so I don't really feel that I should evaluate it. Anyone who wants to should post them and I'll add them to the op.

s2j, I think you're underrating Jiggly's recovery. To get a shine and then shine again is really hard to do through repeated fairs in a shine off the side platforms. Also, Jiggly often will tech the shine making it do less.

I still think the only major time is like right near the edge. Otherwise, it isn't so bad as to make the matchup more untenable than it already is (fox is pretty **** good against Jiggly)

I'm not underrating her recovery i'm just saying Fox ***** Jigglypuff on Dreamland even more with just a single reflect. Jigglypuff has awesome horizontal recovery that's really good if she is sent away and high, but reflect sends her low and away

Jigglypuff can't really f-air either to protect herself because she is beneath the edge of the stage and Fox can just get on top of her and reflect again, not hard at all

You can't tech it if you don't land on solid ground which you won't unless you are very close to the middle of the stage, try reflecting Jigglypuff with Fox on Dreamland and watch as she gets flung off the stage unless she is in the middle

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
Fox ***** puff in more ways than one. Off-stage, if Fox does shine puff, it's almost a guaranteed loss of a stock. This works on all stages.

Fox is my most hated and most annoying matchup when I play Puff.

Ya, fox is pretty killer against Jiggly in general. I'm glad most foxes don't shine :D

Teching will work when you're on one of the side platforms.... and fair has a hitbox above >.>

You must not play many good foxes. Or is my sarcasm detector failing me?

Umm I've played a lot of good foxes, but that's not really relevant >.>

I can't really remember anytime I got like just shined repeatedly, except once or twice against A$ cause that was all he was using, but it wasn't like insta-death.

Maybe I'm just overly biased to jiggly :)

Mario is also pretty strong on Sector Z. He can fireball camp and string U-air combos. Falcon is pretty strong on Mushroom Kingdom imo.

Jiggs needs ridiculous spacing and prediction prowess to beat a Fox. Also, it helps if the Fox can't DI :3

But a competent Fox will knock a Jiggs off and make sure she stays off. Often the threat of edgeguarding does more than the edgeguard itself. This applies more on Dreamland, Congo and occasionally Hyrule.

Also...can't Mario fireball camp and string U-Airs on most levels...?

It's even worse there lol.

Teching works if they are on the far side of the platform, away from the edge

maybe you need more foxes to shine you

I might as well do the beta stages and the 1 player mode stages, ill update this later

Battlefield
Fairness -
This stage is similar to dreamland in fairness but being a little bit smaller and with a glitched edge

Unique Features -
-A 1 player or gameshark only stage
- a layout similar to dreamland, but with 3 small platforms instead of 2 forming a triangle pattern
- A glitched edge that will cause you to self-destruct if you smash DI off of it (most noticeably with falcon)

Strong Characters -
Similar to Dreamland, platform characters are overall better, the size of the platforms and height of the platforms change up combos

Weak Characters -
Similar to Dreamland, characters with weak recoveries and campy characters, as in Link for example

Tournament Legality -
If this stage was unlockable, it would most likely be legal for singles and probably be legal for doubles.
As of now, it is a "locked" or unplayable stage on an N64.

Another important difference between DL and battlefield: Battlefield's lower platforms are higher up, so it messes up a lot of the combos and attacks that you can do on dreamland.

Metal Crystal/Metal Mario's Domain/Metal Cave
Fairness -
This stage would be overall the smallest stage if it was allowed in play. It also contains very large vertical blast zones and horizontal blast zones.

Unique Features -
-A 1 player or gameshark only stage
- 1 small platform with another smaller platform on top of it
- As said before, an incredibly small stage, designed as a stage to face metal mario

Strong Characters -
Characters that can hit quick and have quick gimps do better. Grabs send characters all the way from one side to the other. Falcon, Pikachu, Kirby, DK, Ness

Weak Characters -
Characters that can't kill quickly or have bad/slow grabs. Samus, Fox, Link and Yoshi

Tournament Legality -
Due to how small this stage is, it would probably not be allowed in singles or doubles. However, this is not known because of it being a hack only stage

its says on yoshi's island that falcon cant make it from the far right cloud to the map. if you falcon kick, jump then b-up you can easily make it. or if you just jump, jump b-up with the correct timing you can make it too.

Um...remember to factor in people who want to stop you recovering. Camping on the cloud inbetween the stage and the far cloud sort of stops those three from really getting back if you have any interception skill whatsoever.

Theres just as many unaccountable variables in this thread as there is in the match-up chart...if not more O_o

whats with you guys in trying to put improperly assembled, collective knowledge...into this game O_o

"Falcon can recover if he does this"
"But then he can be intercepted"
"but then he can avoid"
"But then Chuck Norris will eat your children!"
"****, you got me..."

The flaw in your argument is obvious.

Chuck Norris has already eaten your children. And through that, your children's children.

And it's true there are far too many variables...perhaps we should do this by character? It seems easier to categorise.

Saffron City is by far my favorite stage in SSB64. It's unique because you've gotta constantly watch your footing along with the pokemon that come out of that door. Add items and it gets more crazy. I also just like it for what it is. Too bad a replication of it wasn't made on the other Smash games. They tried with Fourside on Melee but it didn't work.
