If you've been following the QnA thread, you'll know by now that Battlefield is absolutely tantalizingly amazing for Sheik in every possible way.

FD is an amazing Shiek stage when fighting Marth. Brinstar and Congo Jungle (64) seem pretty good against spacies. Mute City is a good stage when all you want to do is tech chase. But for Mute City if the opponent is controlling you then you'd want to avoid there. Sheik's recovery isn't good and you'll just lose your stocks fast.

Stages you'd want to avoid with Sheik would probably have to be......Rainbow Cruise? Pokefloats? I don't really think Sheik does have a stage to possibly avoid. She pretty much can control any stage in my opinion.

idk it didn't feel that bad against Vwins or pretty much anyone I've played there, when I lose I think it's mostly 'cuz I'm uncomfortable / bad on that level, not because of deficiencies on Sheik's behalf.

Like, you can basically wait for the lava to come up via super homo platform camping and then **** pretty much anyone who tries to take control of the top platform with your super legs, needles, and Fair. And approaching someone ducking behind the tentacles is difficult, so you can camp pretty safely there.

Of course, those are just good things. If they take control of the top platform first, Sheik's in some deep trouble, and she's going to be stuck taking 28%+ at low percents just because of her crappy aerial mobility. Additionally, the awkward terrain affects her chain grab negatively at times, and her tech chasing in strange ways. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.

But yeah, I don't endorse it or anything.

Kongo and Japes aren't bad depending on character matchup and stuff. Similarly, she's not bad on like Pokefloats or Rainbow Cruise and stuff, it's just that Fox is better at those levels than she is. If you're willing to be really gay, there's no reason why Sheik can't do a similar style as Fox on Pokefloats against not-Fox characters, I think.

This is a strange question to me because it always depends what character you face....

But I generally agree with Kirbykaze mainly because we are so amazing.

Battlefield is a great sheik stage imo, sheik is quite good on brinstar against most characters (Well any character except peach and jigglypuff really).

She is pretty awful on mute city, and poke floats, and I wouldn't ever play her on corneria but w/e all imo though.

Mute City (imo) isn't as bad as people make it seem, just take the bounce for 18% and play smart. Mango's Sheik seems to do very well there somehow, and I think it's because ultimately it's just a flat strip and Sheik's good about abusing no ledges.

Although that doesn't mean it's good for her. On the contrary, I'd advise banning it if you're comfortable on all neutrals against Peach / Jigglypuff. However, I'm sure it's not unwinnable. Come on guys this is Sheik. Not Ice Climbers or Link. We don't have unwinnable matchups :p

Corneria, Cruise, and Floats are simply a measure on whether or not you can outgay the Fox that took you there. Or whoever took you there, really.

Meh maybe so, mute city never has been good for me.

I personally am ok on it with fox but I just don't like the stage with sheik. The bounce isn't the problem the problem is the no edges, no platforms(For a majority of the stages), and in general its a big stage but not to run around on.

Mango sure as hell probably can do it but I probably can't, I'd go peach or fox on mute city personally.

I dislike that there are no platforms too. It makes me sad.

You gotta play really conservatively though, being aggressive is kind of bad when there's a bigger penalty attached to doing so than usual.

Ever notice there's a trend like that? As the stage gets gayer, the best strategy becomes "less fighting, more gay, and keep your space".

I HATE stages with no platforms.

It hinders my movement game like no other.

It seems that Sheik's general strategy is to play gay >_>

My sheik isn't that gay and I get around :bee:.

KirbyKaze - That is most DEFINITELY the case . I mean why fight? Lets just play a minigame called don't get ****ed up by the stage. Loser loses a stock imo.

I hate stages with no platforms as well. So no final or mute city. I like Dreamland best, with battlefield second, but that's just personal preference. FoD is good as well, other neutrals (YS and PS) are alright. Other stages don't exist here so that's no problem (except sometimes Rainbow Ride).

PS is my favorite sheik stage, followed by Yoshi's then BF. Don't really know why though, I just like the platforms on pokemon for some reason.

I like the height for wavelands, also if takes away the option of them going for a top platform as well to get around needle camping.

I'm just comfortable on the stage, I don't think there are any huge advantages there for her though.

Pokemon is good against Peach.

I will debate it being okay against Samus as well. You still outcamp her, she can just do pretty missile tricks so you have to stay on your toes and be smart rather than yawn whenever she jumps for a missile.

I like that you can SH needle onto Pokemon platforms and Isai drop into stuff but beyond that I hate them. I don't like having to do rising aerials under the platform, it feels so unsafe. Stupid Fox. I suppose now that we know that SH Fair DJ Bair can be done as shield pressure with relative safety I will do that more, but it still feels limiting.

But mostly stupid Fox.

I personally think Sheik kinda does good on PS vs everyone.

Everyone of course means the entire cast except fox and falco.

Oh and Falcon... I don't think I'd fight falcon on PS .... if I could avoid it...

I hate Falcon. So much. With such passion.

SUCH PASSIONATE HATRED OF HE

But yeah Pokemon's probably not good against him. I'd have me my Battlefield all day every day.

I have to add that stupid "imma firing mah lazor" meme to that Sunflora.

Only with Solar Beam.

Awwwww yeeeeaaaah

But I despise Falcon. He's so dumb.

I've been using it mostly for random move spam when nothing's going on and we're both moving with dash dance and stuff, it doesn't seem too punishable against some characters (lol Sheik) because you have a lot of options with platforms, can come down with needles post-Bair, or waveland, and it seems decent enough for shield pressure after rising Fairs (I claw these so I move back when I do them) so I'm going to say a tentative "sometimes".

I personally find FoD to be a good Sheik stage in general, I'd say FD and Dreamland are good against Marth and then Yoshi's vs spacies?

My current view:

Fox
Ban: PS
CP: Battlefield/FoD

Falco
Ban: FD (PS if you're good at powershielding)
CP: Battlefield/FoD

Marth
Ban: YS
CP: D64

Jiggs
Ban: D64
CP: PS/YS

Peach
Ban: D64
CP: PS/YS

Falcon
Ban: PS, though it's really personal preference
CP: FoD

Assuming all bs stages are banned (brinstar, mute city, rainbow cruise, japes, corneria...) and your opponent plays along standard meta-game, e.g. an aggressive falco that doesn't camp could easily be taken to FD.

A lot of things make FoD a great sheik stage.

For one, its small. Means you don't have to chase camping as hard. The highest platform is pretty short and you can cover it with FH aerial iirc.

Ceiling is really high, which is great for sheik who almost always kills horizontally anyway.

Platforms make for ridiculous tilt abuse. If the platform is lowered on a side you can actually cover every single tech option by standing on one side of the platform and ftilt to cover away and uptilt to cover towards. Its very similar to Marth's uptilt tech chase on platforms but... with sheik lol.

The stage always caves in toward the bottom, which helps makes edgeguarding easier.

Oh and one huge thing, is the pitfall is low, meaning I can do my nair tricks but most sheiks probably do bnb edgeguarding so I suppose it might not matter that much to others *shrugs*

Theres prolly more too but off the top of my head and well yea...

Generally I like to avoid Dreamland when I choose Sheik. As the game has evolved so many more smashers will play camping games there, most notably Fox and Falco, but other characters like Falcon, Peach, and Jigglypuff seem to do very well there also.

Rainbow Cruise against a lot of characters is surprisingly good except of course for a trigger happy Fox.

If I'm in doubt on which stage to counterpick I'll usually go Kongo Jungle 64 or Fountain of Dreams.
