Yeah, I used to draw some, and recently I got encouraged to get into art again ^ _^

Thought I'd help raise the art : sig shop ratio some, and maybe get some comments/ critique on my art ^_^

Recent Art

A WIP* the actual inking is simply the face and kerchief

A stylized loon--first non digital piece in awhile

A WIP, drawn for a friend--I'll finish coloring it eventually

For this weeks DWYP contest: Jigg'z hair, plus his misunderstood nature made me think of this
__
Old Art That's better than it should be

The only charcoal drawing I've done that I don't hate...no outlines, just tones

A goblin >_>

part of a mural I helped paint

first drawing I ever thought was good--just as a point of reference--from like 05

__
Sprites

My first decent sprite

Only animation I've made--****'s too hard XD

If I tried, I couldn't redo this--I've let it all slip away >_<

The sprites look bette if you right-click->view image--dunno why

All I could think when I saw the animation was, "Counter balance the knife, quick slash, retract."

I thought the shoe was pretty dang good.

Nice stuff overall.

^^thanks people. I just found my tablet pen (I'm kinda forgetful), but I'll keep working (slowly) on these XD.

For the record, tablets make drawing so much easier--with paper, I waste a sketch book working one maybe 2-3 pictures, where digitally I can just erase, redraw XD

Hey viers, I see you is can do the arts

I can art too

But in all seriousness
If you want to get better at anything art-related; draw from life. The boot was what impressed me the most

I could give you the huge art rant/generaltutorial thing I usually give people
but I don't think you'd want to read it

@DRD: I give that talk myself, so I know what you're going to say =P I'm just not that doing at drawing from references--hence the messed upness of the first dudes left arm, and the manga-style of the chick. (The shoe's my favorite thing as well).

I'd be interested in reading your rant though...

anywho, a few updates:

A bit more finished, but really slow work

Almost done with this, but I know once I *finish*, I'm just going to redo it better from scratch...

the sprites are awesome, and the black and white shoe drawing is really nice.
There is something I don't like about how you drew the angle of the shoe in the pic with the girl sitting by the tree though :( but you probably know that. Like, maybe if her knee was bent up more it would make more sense?

new thing I'm aworking on. Critique on hand position/anatomy would be excellent, as I have little experience drawing them >_>

Dude, that boot. As much as I may loathe life drawings from years of classes in high school, I'll always appreciate 'em. Great work, and I commend you on your pre-rendering anatomical composition as seen above^.
