SSBB Stages, pretty or distracting?

I've been looking at the pics for the new stages and the game does indeed look beautiful, but there might be a problem.

I don't know about the rest of you but the SSBB stages seem like they would draw attention away from the matter at hand...kicking the stuffing out of your friends!

It might just be me and my mild ADD, or the fact that I'm easily distracted by shiny things, but the Brawl stages seem like they would, well, distract me!

So I want to know your opinions people...
Brawl stages, distracting, pretty, both, or neither?

They may be distracting for the first time you play on them, but cmon, we will buy this game to kick the **** into each other, not to look at the scenery.

I had the problem when I switched from SSB64 to SSBM, naturally, but... not for long. Now, I rather find it sad how hard it is to appreciate such pretty graphics in a game while playing. You never really notice how pretty Jungle Japes is while you're cursing at the **** rapids.

It'll only distract you the first couple of times you play on it, and the first couple of times will probably be in single player trying to unlock things, so I doubt it will be a problem

I think they are way too focused at scenery. For instance-
Is that the cannon in SMS?
Where?!
GAH!(Link's death cry)

lol I really don't see how it could be more distracting than rainbow cruise in brawl, and that wasn't too distracting for me.

if it was distracting, I think it would be on purpose, and if not, what's the worry?

I really dont feel like fighting on random stages like the secret gray block stage for SSBM on AR.

But I do like for them to seriously take more time on the characters than the stages at this moment in general. however I guess there has to be stages first then characters so that they can test and balance out everything.

Simple....You have ADD. Dont worry it happens to the best of us/
hey! it's not my fault i'm easily distra... (stares at nickel rolling around on ground)...(follows nickel off a cliff, through a dumpster, across the atlantic ocean, to the top of the Eiffel tower and finally grabs it)
GOT IT!!!

now, what was i saying?
Oh yea, SSBB stages...
I'm sure that I'll get used to the stages b4 i unlock everything, but it's gonna be an uphill battle trying to find my opponents in all those moving backgrounds...ah well...

Scenery has never been an isue for me, on any of the games.
So I'm not really paranoid about this game either, I think it will be fine. :)
The only thing that's REALLY distracting, is when the turtle pops up out of Termina Bay.

"Oo, look, a turt--"
GAME!

Are you kidding me? There's no law that says stages have to be one or the other, meaning they are pretty and distracting.

That said, you'll eventually get used to them and the problem will solve itself.:)

You gotta pay attention to the stages! Look at SSBM's PokeFloats.

Still stages like that aren't 'that' distracting.

It's the same as saying, would you look around at an amusment park or be on a ride in one? Not really.

If I could get used to the backround in Final Destination, I can get used to anything. I don't know how often you actually look at it, but there's wormholes, outer space and distand landscapes. It's enough to give me motion sickness.

It'll be the same getting used to we all did with Melee. I recall when Melee first came out, the graphics were so amazing I could barely keep my mind on anything else. After several hundred hours of play, it'll all be old hat.

Only time will tell....
Yeah stages r pretty and distractin for like the first ten minutes of play when all the ooooh aaaah sounds are made by people overcome with awe at brawl's magnificence. But it will be overlooked shortly as people play on for years to come.

The stages are pretty AND distracting, and I wouldn't have it any other way! ^_^ It makes you aware of your surroundings, and keeps you on your toes trying to stay focused on your opponent.
