^^^ If that happens I'll pirate the original ROM.

Apparently, that selling N64 thing won't happen. Which sucks. Ah well, I'll continue matching. I should play today, I'm too hooked to Mother 3. :p

That would be awesome if it does. And since I'm a zelda fan I've been waiting for YEARS for a remake of Magora's Mask, I want that too -_-
EDIT: And the gamecube MM is all glichy and messed up, besides it is rare, and a VC version would be much more convinient

I heard in a Nintendo interview(Like back in February...el oh el)that they might have online functions on Virtual Console game(s). If this is the case, it's probably the only reason why it is taking so long to be released.
*If I find the interview, I'll share*

lol says the guy who mains snake >_>

jk, why would you prefer the old graphics though?
Dunno about him, I just like it because the way it was built, it doesn't age. Melee's graphics aged big time [Fox looks like plastic], and Brawl's will age in time. But for some reason, 64's graphics still look nice.

n64 graphics where a fail, no johnz!

they should make an evolving graphics system...as the limits become lower, the graphics would get better over time...then they would never age!

N64 graphics were.. amazing. Are you joking me?

This is Nintendo 64 bit system were talking about here.
Not something that was suppose to be revolutionary. I bet Sakurai didn't even intend for the Smash series to last so long which is why he didn't put much thought into them.

<3 triangled graphics.

Think of the time period.
1998 (I think?)

This is the same time of LoZ:OOT, which was pretty bad if you think these are bad, and Banjo Kazooie.

I really hope it does come out on the vc, then I could have a copy. It would be pretty sweet playing it with the gc controller as well.

OoT had far superior graphics than SSB (just look at Link's model in Smash versus him in OoT), in fact most games did. But most N64 games run like they're on crutches, whereas SSB is the smoothest-running piece of cartridge for the console. I'm glad the style is so simple because otherwise we'd be playing a fighting game that chugs along at choppy speeds. Hell, play a 4-player FFA, add items, and you've got that anyway.

Didn't see the other responses. Ah well.

64's graphics loses in # of triangles, but it's got a "style" to it. While Melee looks like plastic dolls and Brawl will look like plastic in due time, SSB64 is pretty much ageless. I'm going by emulator graphics though, I don't remember the normal ones. The crappy graphics is where some of the appeal comes from, give it Brawl graphics and it's pretty much not the same game, although more people would play it [or less, as it'd remind them of Brawl...dunno].

Stating the reasons why a game had bad graphics for its time...doesnt make the graphics any better D:

we have the technology to fix this!
