There's always the off chance that Nintendo "accidentally" leaked this to build hype, especially with a recent report (I think it was from Famitsu) earlier this week that when it came to upcoming games the Japanese were looking forward to, Smash Bros wasn't even in the top 10. Definitely a stretch but it would have been an incredibly smart move on Nintendo's part given how quickly this all went viral.

I was thinking the same thing. I would probably not reveal Palutena at all though, and just have her be a hidden character.

You know what this reminds me of? The TRUE leaked screenshots of the sticker pags in Subspace Emmisary during Brawl development where Ness, Jigglypuff, and Lucario's stock icons blatantly confirmed them. Whether or not they were posted on the Dojo need not apply.

Yep, people are nitpicking the **** out of these photos because there's too much evidence against this being a dud.

If they wanted to hype up Japan by leaking something wouldn't they leak someone heavily requested over there? Or is she a major want over there?

What about people like Shulk or Takamaru? One of them is most assuredly in the game. And would be more apt for hyping Japan you'd think.

So anyway, I guess there isn't too much more to say by this point. I am curious if Sakurai will actually acknowledge what happened today in tomorrow's post though.

if they expect a playable character to have something with huge area without a hitbox then they might want to straighten out their....um....stuff?

it's obviously going to be made smaller so it doesn't take up as much room.

I agree and was thinking the same thing. Possible Nintendo went out of their way to make it look like a leaked image.
