SSB4 Release date being announced at E3 2013?

It's totally possible. I'm expecting one. they will probably announce it sometime before holiday season.
Anyone else think that the release date will be announced? When do you think it WILL be? (the date of release or the date that the release date is announced.)

Things to take note of when predicting a release date:-SSB4 had started development sometime between October 2011 and February 2012, meaning at E3 2013 this year, SSB4 will have been in development for a minimum of 16 months.
-Melee took about 13 months to make, and brawl took 24. also, brawl apparently had a rough start with the game, as they were stumbling the first few months of development and needed to hire more team members.
-Instead of just Sakuri balancing the characters, Namco is helping with that, meaning it shouldn't take nearly as long.
-There will be more content in SSB4, as well as better graphics.
-It will be on 2 systems.

It's possible. A chance it'll be a vague release date but a release date is still very possible. I won't be surprised with a delay though.

I'm not sure if they'll talk about the release date at E3. As bad as I want the games to come out this year, I imagine they'll be released sometime next year. Hopefully early next year.

I don't mind waiting much as long as they provide new info and footage from time to time. And besides, I wouldn't want this epic game to become one of them rushed games with a lot of things wrong with it. *glares at Sonic 2006*

Well keep in mind, the closest thing Smash has to a rushed game is Melee.

So don't worry too much.

And even if they know right now that they're going to end up delaying the game, I wouldn't be surprised if they would semi-lie and say the game is slated for a Holiday 2013 release just to build up hype.

Nintendo has been holding back announcing releases for their games. I would suspect they'd hold back here too.

I think that they'll hold on a release date unless they are absolutely certain that they can lock it in for Holiday 2013.

Announcing Smash for Holiday 2013 would give the WiiU a much-needed boost around the time of the PS4 and Xbone's releases, and entice people to pick up WiiU's before it's too late and they already own a different next-gen console.

If they can't guarantee that the game will be out for Holiday 2013, though, I doubt that they will announce a date.

It's certainly possible, but as said above, Nintendo doesn't announce release dates like they used to. They know they delay games over and over until perfectly polished. Even so, if they do announce a release date just tack on an extra 3 months to the date. 6 if we find out a last minute character gets thrown in.

I doubt that they'd release the 3DS version first. They need Smash to sell WiiUs, and encouraging people to buy the 3DS version over the WiiU version is not what they want to do.

I too have a feeling that the two games won't come out the same time (but I won't care so much since I'm both anyways). But yeah, the Wii U definitely needs a system seller far more than the 3DS does. If the 3DS came out first then that can make the Wii U look like it's still in trouble and Nintendo definitely doesn't want that.

Same. I'm buying a WiiU for Smash. Bayonetta, SMTxFE and whatever else comes will be a nice bonus, but Smash is the system seller for me.

I still beleive Nintendo did that by accident. It wouldn't be the first time they did such a thing.

But it can still come out this year, it's just not confirmed IMO.
