Completely obvious they're following in the footsteps of Brawls game-engine and physics. The graphics already look out dated for a game coming out in 2014 (it looks almost exactly like Brawl). If you watch the game-play footage you'll notice: No L-Canceling, auto edge-grab, no hit-stun, and no shielding while in dash animation. SSB4 still has Brawls terrible dash physics, floatiness, clunky walking/running/jumping mechanics.
What does this mean? It means the people who love Melees vastly deep competitive game-play will have to stick to Melee for another decade or two because this game is going to be another Brawl. It's a sad day for the competitive Smash community...a sad day indeed.
