if this can be played via wireless with friends, this will definetly be a great thing to do

all my friends and I will download this for sure ^^

plz try to introduce more nintendo characters, like 70% of the rostter has to be nintendo, I guess if it's for NDS... then why not releasing it for PSP (I hate PSP), but if it only has more third party characters then Nintendo , playing it on a Nintendo Console wouldn't be very exiting

I'm not a fan :\

but I do like smash bros ^^

and, I do love the idea of "Creation" on general, creation is the best thing ever and who every is working on this has a talent

I want jigglypuff to play like melee's :D

My characters I will like to be in the game:

- Toad (plz do not give him an Shrink opponent ability or self growth)
- Daisy (do not get float like peach, base her on Mario tenis/striker/golf *do not copy peach's smash attacks or any aerials)
- Koopa Troopa (if can, the one with the wings so he could glide or float like peach *the fload like peach in every 2D mario games)
- Giga Bowser (no comments, you can add him and he would be banned for competitive ways or just make him beatable but a lol better than bowser)
- Petey Piranha
- Goron, Zora & Deku Kid (like Pokemon Trainer but have Young Link change masks)
- Gerudo Girl
- Impa
- Ralph
- Pichu
- Plusle & Minum (Ice climbers like)
- Rival Trainer "Treecko, Marshtomp and Blaziken*

dang if you are adding third parties well just add these :p :

Ken
Akuma
Goku
Piccolo
Gohan

Your idea of young link is the idea we are using for un-cloning young link. We have some deku sprites, but for the rest we are at a loss I think.

BTW, we are planning 2 "versions" one limited, which will be the priority, featuring strict Smash rules for the hardcore fans, and another extended version, which will include every other character.
They will be compatible in multiplayer, as long as the limited edition gets updated too. If not, the extended version will only be able to play with chars from the limited edition.
This updates will be released along with the updates of the extended version.
Also, there won't be multiplayer soon, because I've heard the library in charge of dswifi is being updated, so I prefer to wait until it's out. However, the input base is mostly done, so it's just polishing some final stuff once that gets released.

You should have MORE Nintendo characters. Man, Sakurai made a mistake, adding Sonic and Snake. While I have no problem with them, they're the reason for fangames like this.

what other chars would you add from nintendo...all important nintendo franchises have enough representatives except for metroid

There you go. There's Trace, Sylux, Kanden, Spire, Weavel, etc. And if there's space to put in more 3rd party characters (or at least that much) then there's plenty of space for more Nintendo characters.

Question to the devs; do you guys play smash bros competitively? Do you understand things like teching, Directional Influence, Smash DI, grabs and types of throws, hitstun, etc, and will that be implemented? DI and hitstun are especially gigantic factors.

Heh, if they don't program as badly as Brawl's programmers, there goes ATs.

actually yes i play smash competitively but i still suck....we dont have plenty tourneys around here:( ( Costa Rica).

i didn´t know how hitstun was calculated in brawl or melee so i sent a pm to leafgreen some time ago because i remembered that he was one of the people that started the discussion about hitstun for brawl+

i hope we get all things you mentioned, except for smash di because the DS has no c-stick and it can´t differentiate tilting from tapping with the D-pad, that is why we will use a button for smashes and another for normal attacks, or should we use that button+D-pad to smash DI...could be possible

We may be adding Ridley. Not the other hunters though. But yeah, you are right, Metroid has a serious lack of representatives, but it's also because Samus is alone.

That would be helpful, as We are trying to make a SSB-like camera, so feedback from here would be really helpful

I was in the process of designing that very game, it will soon be in development. I am also a homebrew developer for the ds. Sadly, I can not download the file from that link. Could you email the source, or the .nds file as an attachment? The source would help me greatly as well, once I begin development. Tell me if you need another apprentice/mid-level coder for anything, I am sure our projects will work well together.

Edit: I am also a graphic designer, if you need that. I would not know because I have not tested it yet.

Probably... Its a good name! What else would you use? PWNED? Drool? .... Touched? (lol, early on, all the games focused on the touch screen and got the name Touched added to its name) ... Have you guys considered source forge? That is a great place to host games.

New test UP:

test 9: includes new Stage, walking up and down the slopes(Stylus a bit buggy),music and horizontal air speeds are not the same as running speeds(values have to be changed a lot)

test 9.5 up.
DL here

After a long time we have a new test...which includes Kratos from GoW.
-Still no attacks
-Stylus in the NDS stage is still buggy while walking up
-Sonic´s air resistance was fixed(i liked it a lot)

Plz give feedback so we can change every char values for running, base horizontal air speed, and air resistance.

After we have the correct values demo 1 should be released, which will include Jabs,Nair and Up-b

Also, a save and a read options were added. Before, the save file was automatically saved when exiting the options screen (but, we now know it didn't work). But, now you can choose to save, and if you press B, you leave without saving changes, but, keeping them in effect until shut down the DS, and you can later go back to options to save them, or read the save file to lose them.
added yoshi and zero to the roster...

Maybe in test 10 we will have some fighting with jabs,nairs and Up-b

i got through all the menus (in 9.6) and to the character select screen, but i cant start the game. im using DeSmuME.exe if that makes a difference. I wanna try it on my ds lite, so i was wondering if where they sell flash carts. are they rewritable?

i use No$GBA and haven´t had a problem. Plz don´t talk about flashcarts here i don´t know if its legal so plz search yourself(and i actually don´t know since i don´t have a NDS).


in another note: i have played a no released test in which zero´s jab was added(only him) along with running/walking(double tap left/right to run). Prolly this weekend we will have test 10 released

works on no$gba. not trying to insult it (constructive) the numbers could be bigger/ have a color that stands out more. the camera's pretty good. tis a pretty game. the jumps feel kinda heavy/low and aerial movement is a slow for the second jump. was sonic really walking? it looks good and is coming along well, though.

if you are talking about the damage % then yes they should be bigger, there are some ppl developing a nice damage counter.

about jumps and all that they are going to be fixed eventually...the walking/running thing was for the non released test

Works on my CycloDS.
The stages so far are great and so is the roster.

Things to fix:

Higher control in mid-air (they don't move that much when falling and you press left or right)

Diagonal parts of stages like the stylus or the pipe (the animation is weird and I keep falling through the stylus

Sonics speed (way too high)

Higher jumps in general

Faster frames with the sprites (7 frames per second is a bit low)

Kratos's jumps (you can't control him in mid-air)


Good job anyway so far and good luck with the wifi!

So, jabs(AAA) and N-Air have been added for most chars.(some jabs have some sprites not complete, but this will be worked)

Oh, and some code cleaning, but that's not noticeable. Plus, I always clean my code after vomiting it before a test.

Things for next Pre-Demo test: More stages, finish adding the attacks for missing chars, maybe color change. AND GAME MODES. With that done, we are ready to go. It's not much missing.

FAT Music. It's turned off by default so Emu's don't freeze. Also you will need the music folder. Be sure to download it and put it in the root folder of your SD card.

well we are going kinda slow now because of college...but soon adding chars would be easier as well as stages, it should be easy enough for not very good programmers to add them

Make all the sprites in Castlevania style and with Castlevania expertise, and I will love it. Metal Slug is a more than fine option too.


Make ANYTHING in Jump Ultimate Stars style, and I will hunt you all down and force you to choke on the vomit that game's animations induce. Sonic style is worse.

I can forgive you for reusing existing sprites, but not if custom animations are necessary for them to be playable. At that point, make a new sprite.

That DS stage I see in the screenshot disappoints me.

This is really fun, Zero seems kinda broken now but this is beta beta beta beta right now so ti doesnt matter. Keep up the great work :)
