if you go to 82 games you should know better than to care bout 2-0 regular season results. what about all the other games they've played that the cavs have done better?

most importantly, it's the defense. the lake show can't turn it up defensively like mike brown's teams. that dude must be a defensive god for the record.
I care about the results because it shows that the Lakers match up just fine withe Cavaliers. That cavs have only done better in TWO games than the lakers, I think head to head matchup is a better indicator of the finals would fare than the cavs having a better record by two games.

And if you are talking about the playoffs being different than the regular season, I actually think under that argument Lakers have a better shot - Bynum missed half the season, Kobe is more experienced in the playoffs, and the same Lakers team went to the finals last year. Cavs went a couple of years back, but not all of their players have that experience - like Mo Williams and such. With Lakers, pretty much every single person on their team has finals experience.

And the Lakers have shown to be a great defensive team with Bynum in the lineup. If you look at their PPG allowed with him in the lineup, it's drastically lower than without him. That Lakers D must be terrible to allow the amazing cavaliers only 88 and 91 points in their respective two games. The lakers lose to a lot of ****ty teams because they don't give it their all the entire season, Phil uses the bench a heck of a lot more than other teams and Kobe is much more rested overall than Lebron going into the playoffs. The lakers try a heck of a lot harder against the good teams, so I use their strength against the other elite teams as a better indication of how they fare in the post season.

Lebron is better than Kobe but I don't trust Lebron's teamates entirely in the playoffs. Also , I feel the Lakers match up better against the cavs than the cavs do with the lakers. Barring injuries, if they meet in the finals I think Lakers would win in 6.

read john hollinger and step ya game up

some things you said that can't let me take you seriously:

-- "more experienced in the playoffs"
-- johning about results to lesser teams (that's what margin of victory is for folks; ps the cavs blow out everyone ;))

i would put up any amount up to $50 saying the cavs would win yaaay

oh, and on the bynum thing, the lakers started off great, but they quickly regressed to normal (before he got hurt) so that point doesn't fly. cavs have been an elite defensive team for three years now and the celtics, magic and cavs basically have identically incredible defenses that are far beyond anyone else in the NBA (http://www.knickerblogger.net/stats/2009/d_de.htm)

in terms of knowledge i know baseball and basketball like the back of my hand, less so on football because it's become more and more boring to me
how do you find football more boring then baseball? baseball is like almost ********. football is incredibly physical and even more intellectual. its a chess game.

i heart football to death. used to be into basketball until jordan came back. i lost interest in that and also realized its a pretty lame sport in general. soccer is lame as well.

ping pong is the ****.

**** tennis.

Cricket and football is where its at though.

football on TV is atrocious for so many reasons:

-- HORRIBLE CAMERA ANGLES DON'T LET YOU SEE ANYTHING (biggest pet peeve by faaaaaaar, it's just unwatchable imo)

-- worst announcers in any sport by far

-- most downtime in any sport by far

and unlike other sports, you can't gauge the quality of a game very accurately beforehand. even between two top 10 teams, they could play each other five times and you could get a close game only 2 or 3 times. in basketball, soccer and hockey it's a lot different. combined with the above i just stopped caring about it.

oh and the injuries also make it much more random than other sports

i also find it hard to respect anyone who doesn't like/respect soccer as a sport. it's incredible, the world cup is the nuts

edit: actually i didn't stop caring about it, i still follow it daily -- but most of the games just suck hard

Baseball is alright. I don't find it particularly interesting to watch, but if you want to get involved with a sport there's a lot going on.

Soccer is actually really fun to watch, despite what everyone says. I would watch it as regularly as I watch any sport if I had a team to cheer for and it was televised here.

Football is a lot of fun to watch, but my knowledge of the game is fairly shallow. I have a team I like and cheer for, but thats all I care about

Basketball is my favorite sport to watch right now, probably just because its in season. High energy sport, constant motion. My knowledge of the game is extremely shallow, but who cares.

soccer is mmaaaaaaddd boring to me. its all hype to me, especially being from pakistan where thats all people watch and play besides cricket.

actually playing soccer is fun as hell. but watching two teams almost score for a few hours kinda sucks.

playing baseball is fun too, with a team.

bleh, there's really not a lot more "action" in football compared to baseball

i can't really watch soccer for a long time if i don't have a rooting interest

hockey's only a step above that for me too

on the other hand, i love watching almost any sport in person... sports environments and crowds are all amazing, and even if you have no real interest, you can't have a bad time at a high-level college football game (unless the home team is getting wrecked... lol)

my favorite to watch in person with any amount of regularity is baseball games, with its awesome chill atmosphere combined with dirt cheap tickets. NFL games are awesome too, but there are so few games that you probably won't see your team come to town but once every 6-8 years :(. nba/nhl games are alright, but very much dependent on the quality of the game, IMO

soccer is nothing like brawl
champions league and world cup is ridic, and the spanish/english/italian league are extremely high quality competition. and i dont think theres anything like a soccer crowd, hypes up the game so much

i think ive been to more dodger games than ive watched on tv
i just cant sit through a game of baseball, but come playoff time i usually watch everything
ill play it though

football i only watch cuz it looks bomb in hd

tennis is actually pretty crazy too, the few times ive caught a match i was entertained. Nadal is nasty

every single pitcher v batter exchange has a ton of action if you're paying attention

i like to learn how specific hitters hit and pitchers pitch

i know theres more to soccer, i come from a place where people get killed over it, and played it a lot as well.
yeah but that doesn't mean you know what more there is to it -- i don't care where you're from, that's entirely irrelevant. saying something ignorant, on the other hand, is relevant indeed.

america(not the government) *****
no

, its attitude and people
who define america?

whoever hates us, ****'em
LOL, this is as stupid as "god bless america"

soccer is like brawl.
that invalidates your "i know there's more to soccer" point

i wasnt even born here
also meaningless, because the most important point is

i came here when i was a kid
america ****ed you up real good

yes that was my point

paying attention to minute details as far as whether a pitch was 2 inches too high isn't something that everyone would be interested in though, so i think it's perfectly understandable that others find it boring

The pitcher-batter matchup is the only interesting thing in baseball to me, and it is far less interesting than analyzing the previous play in football. I don't know if football or baseball have more 'action,' but baseball's 'action' is just fielding, which is largely mechanical, whereas in football there is a great deal of teamwork and several layers of action going on at once.

What I really want to know is, does anyone really truly find NASCAR enjoyable to watch? I seriously don't get it. F1 is cool though, and Rally is fucking awesome.

You know what sport is awesome to watch? Boxing. It's like smash. There's spacing, combos, and a fair amount of strategy involved. The Ali vs. Frasier fights are amazing.

especially when the losing team starts shooting UZI's and 9mm at the winning side crowd. (no joke)

america ****ed you up real good
im sure its better then a good chance of getting killed while shopping at a mall by some bombing underground gang or islamic fundamentalists.

do you live in america? if so, you should leave. it would just make sense.

everything else i said is mainly my opinion. im just letting you know i think soccer sucks, personally.

sorry.

go practice your penalty shot and take a hike.
and dont forget the trail mix bittch.

p.s. baseball vs football. which has more action? who gets injured in baseballl? random birds flying by?

i love it

and hyuga, you can't analyze **** in football cause you can't see anything! can't see presnap adjustments, can't see who the OLine double teams, can't see backside pursuit, etc. etc.
