from the first tourny i was at this weekend i have learned one thing more then anything
that be spacing
ok their is a story to this and how spacing (almost) saved my soul
i was at my first tourny at a college they had huge projector screens and the format was ideal (for me anyways) there were about 50 people there and the re were elimination rounds
i blew through the first matches without losing a stock (people don't know how to take olimar ) ) but anyways the semi final was cake as well
i was pretty sure i was going to win the last match was 5 match best out 3
i was fighting snake on Final destination i figured i would camp at the the side and SH pikmin toss but he kept mortar sliding me and finishing me off with his tilt and we would spot dodge my attacks/shield grabs/pivot almost every time
least to say he 2 stocked me
2nd match was the same Sept it was on the animal crossing stage
he had one stock left this time because i charged my attacks witch threw him off
then finally the third match (ohh nooooooo) that when it hit me that my spacing was alllllll messed up i want using my reach to my advantage so i adjusted my smashes maybe a cm father away then i normally would do and stayed in the middle of the stage just doing that i avoided his mortar slide and punished him with pivot grabs every time he did it
i spaced my smashes so the would just nick him even when i did that i only won by one stock
but a victory it was :)
the 3rd match was on battle field and i just rinsed and repeated he stopped mortar rolling so i just pikmin tossed him i think it messed him up because i won with 2 stocks left
the final match
he switched to flaco early in the match he gimped me.........
other then that im used to fighting flaco and i managed to get him equal with me we were both on our last life and he just happened to hit me with a fully charged smash because i TRIPPED
but anyways it would of been a nice story if i won but i learned the value of spacing your attacks
sorry if it was sorta long i won 25 bucks so at least it was worth it

um good for you? hahaha

Spacing is essential.

Know how I beat my opponents?

If they have a really good move they like to use a lot. (Snake ftilt, falco jab ect)

I stay too far away for them to use it and get them with grabs/smashes into aerial/close range combos.

yeah i NEVA play a good snake as weird as that sounds
but i got on to him really fast he would be throwing nades and my pikmin would bounce em right back at him then i would screw up his guided missile...he cursed a few times when his own crap killed him
falco would of been cake if i didnt get gimped and tripped >.o

my friend mains falco and i fight him ALL THE TIME im used to his ridiculous combos
and the one i fought against was very aggressive in that sense but didn't spam sh b at all =X
it was on battlefield and he dodged at bad times trying to get threw the platforms i c sticked him up 2 times for stocks before he got the hint but i felt so dumb getting fully charged smashed..... i was at the ledge and i had a blue ready for a grab and as i ran i tripped right in front of him >.o

Yea thats a nice read for those whom dont know about spaceing.
But just rememeber against Snake you cant camp throwing pikmin long range; We arent ROB...
Stay mid range...not saying your in less danger just thats where olimar works best...
Snake works from all areas air being his weakest department
You gotta be where Awex stated too far for a ftilt but close enough for him not to nade with out consiquince.
I use to main Snake this how I kno =/
And the motor slide is balled over by Smatty(purple pikmin look in my normal disscussion thread you'll see) being tossed with side b, i believe correct me if I'm wrong.
When I mained Snake I barely motor slid at people as an approach I'd usually camp and make them approach.
But nice little story...

yeah snake was screwed once i knew to just stay in the mid of the stage.
His grenade spams kept backfiring on him
and if he approached i just either pivot grab and air comboed or just forward smashed him off the side and latched pikmin and try to spike
i did use the purps on him when he rolled at me i got really lucky the forth match because i had 3 purps almost the whole match which reallly discouraged his rolling when i tossed em =D

Speaking of spacing, how about you space out your sentences into paragraphs next time?
QFT

Also, you can camp the crap out of a grenade camping Snake.

Seriously, Olimar is small enough to get away with it. By percentage Olimar will win and Snake will get frustrated and rush in only to get grabbed/smashed. ;x
