so I'm roughly 1/3 of the way through the game! (I'd say 1/4, assuming that there's some kind of final story or true final boss once you beat all three of the main characters' stories,

Without giving too much away, there are two extra episodes. You need to do more than just beat each character's story to unlock them.

Thanks! I looked into it; apparently, since I'm playing on the Standard difficulty, I need to collect all Xehanort reports (which I'm already doing), collect all stickers (I was already planning to do that and find all of the treasure chests), and defeat 9999 Unversed. (not sure where the game keeps track of that, but I'm hoping that I'll get that over the course of three playthroughs)

I'm nearly at the end of Ventus's playthrough (I've beaten all of the Disney worlds and found all of the chests/stickers that I can get so far - there's one in Disney Town that was unnecessarily frustrating), so I feel like I'm making good progress - I have nearly all of Ven's keyblade skills, and I've reached this point a few hours faster than I did for Terra.

I'm having a great time with the game so far, and I bought Kingdom Hearts 2.8 since I saw that was on sale for about $30.

Shame that aside from the keychain on the Keyblade, there aren't any Disney references. But hey, legal stuff, what're you gonna do?

I've had to grind out the 9999 Unversed in my standard mode playthroughs. Rushing through one of the early worlds is quick enough. You can use the journal to see how many of each Unversed you have defeated and add them up.

I beat the final story of Birth By Sleep! I still have to beat about 2500 Unversed to unlock the Secret episode, though I'm hoping that the Mirage Arena will count towards that.

(There's also the bonus bosses, but if Lingering Will and Sephiroth from past games are any indication, there's no way I'm beating those)

The only secret bosses I've defeated were Kurt Zisa and the Ice Titan in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD ReMix.
