Does anyone know how actually you can get Sonic's Up Smash spike to actually work every single time you try it? I am sometimes lucky and get Sonic's spike to actually work and when it does work my opponents are usually screwed because what it does it send your opponent down and close near the center of the bottom of the stage and i just cant get it to work when ever I want it to. So is it possible to make it work when you want or is it just a luck thing? I also know that Sonic's down air is also a sorta spike at one point but that isnt as good as the Up Smash Spike.

Meh. Might as well explain this and ask for a thread lock.

Up-smash spike: works on any of the medium/smaller characters at the correct %s of their damage. as a rule of thumb this is somewhere between 40% and 80% but the numbers do vary quite widely. Also, the numbers or whether or not it will even work at all are dependent on positioning. That is to say, Sonic facing his opponent and up-smashing will yield different results than him facing away from his opponent and up-smashing. The effect is still the same if it works, but the percentages are changed.

Down-air as a semi spike if you hit someone in the air soon enough with it. That's all though.

no one is going to be DI'ing downwars while they try to recover. any other move (fair lol) would probably end up in a <horzontal trajectory if they did it anyway

If link used dair and u caught him just as he used it wit your own Dair, then he would be DIing downwards XD. But yea its very unlikely.

On another note, I spiked a DeDeDe in a ladder match on castle seige(on the floaty rock stage part), using a Dsmash at the edge, with a perfectly vertical, or near perfectly vertical trajectory. It was the most awesome thing ever. We were both in shock. I'm assumign it was just a stage glitch due to the inclination of the rock at the point, but still very cool.

Fuck you Tenki, everyone refers to it as a semi-spike and I'm not gonna bother calling it a "sorta sideways-ish send" or something so just go DIE.

I think part of what he meant is that you could have found the information by looking up:

You go to the Sonic boards, then on the upper right of the table with all the thread links, there's a button that says "search this forum". If you click it, a tiny search box will pop up. If you want more options, click advanced search.

Also, for no real reason,
