I'm still tackling Apex, but you can best believe I'm already trying to figure out what I can do to get myself to EVO.

As enticing as it sounds, I live under the care of my parents still.

I'd rather take this time/opportunity to actually rent out a hotel room on the strip and just retreat there for the nights reserved. I've never done it before; and, I kind of want to get the tourist's version of Vegas.

Of course I'd have to save up; but, not an issue. I'll invite everybody, why not.

I'll be rooming with my buds from Alberta and such, since we're bringing a LOT of people probably for both Smash games. But you can bet that I'll be hanging out with you guys a lot for sure.

God I wish I could be there, Maybe I'll find a way to catch a ride/plane to Vegas when the time comes, but for now there is nothing I can do.

the only issue i have with EVO is the fact that they won't allow people to play using wireless controllers such as the Wii U Pro controller. Not everyone such as myself have a GC Adapter or like me simply prefer using the Pro Controller over a GC controller. I have no problems using GC just it will be very annoying if i manage to go that i can't play the way i'm most comfortable.

Why dont you like the 2 stock rule? Im curious because this is the first time I heard someone against it other than me (although I'd still go to EVO even if they did have that rule if I was, ya know, good enough lol.)

I agree with Espy on this. I honestly much prefer 3-stocks and eight minutes even in the case of singles and I wish that my local scene followed suit.

... Though, I'm not quite about to pass up the opportunity to attend a national event that is, quite literally, at my doorstep. And because the rest of the competitive scene seems Hell-bent on sticking out with 2-stocks and 6-minutes for the rest of Sm4sh's life, I just have to put up with it and compete under the circumstance.

I'm not complaining too much, anyway.

Yea Evo is kinda huge lol so it'd be hard to pass up the opportunity to go. And I'm pretty sure the only reason they are keeping the rules this is way is because of FG, obviously. Like the Japanese only practice on Omega stages and two stocks so I highly doubt we will see a switch.

But boy am I hyped anyway for EVO. This will be my first time seeing EVO live streamed (had a gymnastics meet the last two years oddly enough).

Really wish I could go... Yay for being a UK resident with responsibilities. It'll be good to see some Sonic reps though, maybe a few more will pop up as opposed to all the :rosalina:/:4sheik:/:4diddy: mains. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind them, but I want to see some amazing Sonic play.

Main hall pass registration is sold out. But I got it.
I know nothing about EVO registration. Explain to me what that is. Is it like a spectator pass?

It's honestly stupid.

First off, I heard from other people say that T-Shirts used to be included in the passes. Apparently, now they're a separate purchase. Kinda lame.

Now, the actual explanation, the $70 pass allows you to be in the same hall where the finalists are playing (assuming you're not one yourself) to watch the game live.

The $50 pass allows you to sit in a separate room with a live feed of the game.... Whoop-de-do? Why would I pay $20 to be somewhere I don't care to be in unless I'm on the stage itself?

Of course I got the $50 pass, having that said. Whether or not it's the one that's sold out is none of my concern, I am already signed up and ready to compete.

No free swag is always lame.

Yeah, I did some research myself and this seemed to be the answer I got. Makes no sense to me why I would want to sit in a separate room from the hype and watch it the same way I can from home… They really should've found a larger venue or something considering how huge the scope is for EVO now.

I am still battling life to see if I can actually go… ;_;

I might go. I'll have already moved from Phoenix AZ (within driving distance) to Miami by July though, which kind of sucks but hey that's life I guess.

That's really inconvenient timing…

Freakin' Kinzer lives in Vegas like a jerk.

That's why I suggested Kinzer houses everyone for the biggest gathering of the Sonics ever...

You're asking for mission impossible. So long as I do not live under my own roof, I am unable to accommodate for anybody out of state. ;~;

I was there for one day. The keyword here is day. Having guests over during the hours where sun shines is not the problem. It's allowing guests to retreat for the night.

Kinzer, I totally understand, but I just think the idea is really funny.

And fun.

And I think it's a really great idea.

Dang it Kinzer, I totally don't understand.

Aww, hey! It's alright. I don't know if all 1000+ tournament competitors expect to win the gold in the first place! It's the experience, really. If you ever find the chance to go, go for it!

On that note, my tickets, hotel and everything is secured.
