I watched every episode of Game Grumps with Jon.

Arin hates Sonic for very flawed reasons outside of just not liking it.

He'll only play notoriously bad Sonic games so he can have free reign on hating it.

Well I've heard he's also played Sonic 3 & Knuckles (And IMO his current playthrough of Sonic Adventure) and still ******* about it. So he just ******* about the franchise even when he's playing a generally well-received game.

Probably mainly for entertainment purposes though, exaggerating his dislike (Like he's said outside of Game Grumps that he still doesn't like Sonic Adventure. But he admitted it's competent in comparison to Sonic 06 while on Game Grumps he acts like he dislikes almost every 3D Sonic game as much as most do Sonic 06) for the sake of an audience (And also playing horribly perhaps partly on purpose). Though I've also heard he's complained when playing badly at Mario games too.

I sometimes forget that not everyone else has the same treasure trove of Sonic trivia as me.

I get too geeky over things I like and Sonic is definitely one of those things.

That was totally amazing. Why? Two things: HOW COULD MARIO KILL SONIC LIKE THAT? AND WHY DID 6WX USED UP AIR WHILE IN THE AIR!?

Anyways, I actually wanted to discuss something about Sonic Adventure.

Does anybody here hate the game? Because the Game Grumps have been bashing on it pretty hard and almost every single person is making excuses to defend Egoraptor's insults to the Sonic Adventure fanbase and the game in general. It's like the Sonic haters heated up and wanted to bash the living **** out of Sonic Adventure. Does anyone agree with them? Do you like Adventure? Could Sega have handled the game better at your opinion? Or you just don't even care about it?

I haven't seen Game Grumps play anything other than Castlevania 1 and 4. I understand that Sonic gets hated on a lot by modern gamers. I also feel like most of the people who criticize 3D Sonic games have never played a single Sonic game. I know for fact some do this just because it's the bandwagon to follow now. It's also not that hard to figure out because their claims are always way too general.

Personal, I liked Colours more than SA1 (discluding the Colours mechanic) I don't really know why, I just think that the Sonic Adventure games felt to much like an adventure game rather than a Sonic Game at times. Maybe it was the overworked map. Not that I didn't enjoy it, I just preferred Colours more. Honestly, I don't know which Sonic formula is my favourite

I refused to watch the playthrough, but I know they brought on The Completionist to do it, and Ross was there, who actually likes that game and Sonic in general, so still not Arin actually playing or attempting to play an excellent, well-received Sonic game.

Sorry. Well, honestly the over world was all that bad, it was fun sometimes. Though maybe if they made it just a time small or more like a big version of Generations map.

My only really huge gripe with Boom is the design changes. It just doesn't feel like Sonic at all to me when I look at those... things. Of course that's not the only thing wrong with it, but I'd find it a lot more tolerable if the characters were pleasing to look at.

I don't buy anything from the Sonic Boom line. That's the only way to actually support what you like.

I have my theories about the 25th anniversary title but I don't want to be at risk for generic Sonic fanboy-itis.

I've stopped caring about Sonic Boom long ago. It's bad enough that I actually still read news about it even though Fire and Ice is probably going to fail again.

Haven't played Rise of Lyric much, but I enjoyed Shatted Crystal. The main thing is that you need to put your mindset into a Metroidvania state, so it can be jarring. Also the final boss is decent in its own right. That being said, I feel that games like (Super) Metroid, Wario Land 3, and Kirby Amazing Mirror are much better uses of the genre.
