The dair spike is within a 4 frame window after the inital 2 frames of the attack being active. Basically dair starts hitting on frame 17 and 18 with the hotbox being that strong vertical trajectory. Frames 19 to 22 are where you can spike and anything after that is the sourspot. So to explain it simpler just try to spike someone shortly after sonic starts descending downwards to land the spike.

Are these informations about the timing 100% correct ? I'd love to master the Dair Spike and I know some of our players do it fine. For now, I didn't perfectly understand how it works. Maybe Sonic Orochi Sonic Orochi could confirm what is said in this video
Just try to hit the opponent right after Sonic's foot extends downwards and he starts falling.

At least that's what I try to do.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the most appropriate place to ask this, but does Sonic get completely stomped by rosalina and luma? Looking at 6wx vs dabuz and abadango the MU looks nigh unwinnable at top level and is incredibly frustrating at my level. It makes me wonder if it's worth picking up a secondary vs her.

She's not so bad. Play the neutral and let her come to you while Luma is out. If you get a chance to take out Luma only then do you try and approach Rosalina.

Playing campy pays off in some match ups.

Rosalina with Luma is a living hell.

Rosalina without Luma is a bodybag.

I still hate this match-up.

I need more practice.

Thanks a lot! Man, Komokiri is the smartest Sonic I've ever seen. Watching him play is really helpful!

Please use the edit feature to avoid double posts!
What about olimar he almost seems worse then rosalina and luma. There are like 3 really good olimars all on the PR in my region and they make the MU feel impossible.

To me, his initial dash is so long that Fox Trotting is not even worth it. You have tons of means for spacing and movement, you can live with no FT.

Sonic can extend his foxtrot (grinding) and his DDP is something I abuse a lot.

Mixing that up with screech stop is also awesome.

I love this character.

Could you make a tutorial video on Sonic's foxtrot and/or dash dance?

What does DDP mean ? Can't find it on Google :/
When in doubt, check the glossary.

Though, I understand it's not as obvious if the connection's not being made.

In the works.

I have a different video which is so close to being complete but I have to make some revisions and real life is keeping me away from it... Which is so frustrating. Sorry everyone. My goal is to have it out before my birthday so I can be done with it.

The more I try to utilize fair and Utilt the more they always seem to let me down in the most crucial moments...why did they decide it was a good idea to make fair and utilts hitbox's even smaller than what it was in brawl? -_______-

You can try messaging them via twitter or their channels. Most charge $40/hour. Someone like Jtails seems to know Sonic fairly well and will do lessons.

I personally don't see the point. Once you master the fundamentals you need to develop your own style and have a little bag of tricks for mixups which you can build off the movement thread and youtube.

Here's a nice starter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhz_64vXvhw

What do you guys think of the Rob mu? Got bopped this weekend at a tournament by Gyo, and the mu felt hella hard in terms of getting in, between Nair, dtilt, fair, and gyro his wall was super solid.

Similar to Rosalina in the sense that he has a lot of tools to keep you out and maintain control, but if he loses it, he's a giant target who gets hit by everything and combo'd galore.

A worse Rosalina though. Even match-up or so, imo.

Coincidentally, I was messing around with Level 9 CPU's and got the Double spring to work.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

I'M NOT EXPLAINING IT FOR A 20TH TIME

I'VE BEEN TRANSPORTED BACK TO 2008
