I need help or some sort of confirmation to let me know if this is true. I've been playing a lot of Melee and P:M back to back and now I'm starting to notice some weird things  . 1. Chain-grabs- Question answered! 2. The Speed- How close are we to the speed of Melee? I still feels a tad slower. Is it that momentum being 1 frame late thing? 3. Wavedashes - This one may be me because of the different character models and camera but for some reason I'm getting the illusion that some wavedashes like Fox's and Luigi's are slower and shorter. Thanks to whoever answers these :) . I just want clarification so I don't sound like I'm talking out of my a$$.

1. Im pretty sure they didi it for balance issues
2. Perhaps that or maybe a problem with your tv, using an HDMI or something
3. I think you are correct

Ganon can still CG most of the cast.

Mario's is actually legitimately harder and just plain out doesn't work at some of the old percents.

This was an intentional design decision.

1. leelue nailed it
2. What you're referring to is landing detection. I'm not sure if they fixed it, but last time I heard, Brawl's landing detection was still there making you touch the floor one frame later or earlier iirc (?). That's why it might feel "slower" to you.
3. Might just be you, maybe you're not getting the maximum distance with your wavedashes in P:M. It feels the same to me.

Mario takes Doctor Mario's downthrow over his Melee one, making CGs feel different and overall less effective in exchange for a longer % window for Dthrow Fair.

For the record,
"landing detection" is something else, something that had falco mains up in arms about how not-low their lasers could go and had link mains upset about how they teleported to the floor.

I think it's the camera above all else. Go watch a melee match and have a PM match up as well.

The biggest difference you will notice is how fast the camera pans and the speed it zooms in and out.

When and if that can be fixed it will feel worlds different.

This also is the reason I believe people complain about things like marths spacing and wavedash lengths.

Lasers still shoot high using Melee muscle memory due to momentum delay. Not just one of those "blame momentum delay" things either. Someone posted a gif of how it effects Fox at one point actually.

who cares if he shoots high, don't rely solely on muscle memory and use your brain, it won't be a problem. i never even noticed because i adapt immediately, because i don't suck at the game

Melee camera seriously screws with my head. Way too much zooming and panning, looks like it's being directed by a child with ADHD. PM camera is much more stable by comparison.

The funniest thing about this is that I never claimed Falco's lasers were hard to shoot lower or anything of the sort. I corrected Leelue's statement about high lasers being a result of landing detection, and did nothing more. Falco shoots high only because of the momentum delay that, which is still in Project M at the moment, and which only causes problems if using Melee's muscle memory, another point I made in the first place. Ie., "Falco still shoots low using Melee muscle memory." It has nothing to do with being bad, Falco still shoots higher than he would in Melee using identical inputs. That was and still is my point.

Stop being so presumptuous about things like this, because it really makes you look like an elitist prick. And to my understanding you aren't an elitist prick and are a generally cool dude.

This. I tried to play a little bit of Melee after I first downloaded 2.5 and I had motion sickness.

Are you also planning on giving Mario the Doc up-b cancel and Doc N-air? I know Mario is doing alright but I think those two changes will finalize his design and then you won't have to mess with his moveset afterwards.

Mario's Nair seems perfectly fine to me. I see no reason for it to be changed.

I wouldn't mind getting to up B cancel like Doc, though I don't see anything wrong with Mario's nair how it is.

Nothing wrong with it. It's just that Doc's is better. I thought the point was to take the best from both characters.
