If you wonder, no, I don't like the live-action movies, but I do admit they're an important part of the franchise that have influenced a lot of stuff afterwards, and do see some things that are either good or have potential from them.

Honestly, I myself kinda liked the first movie, but my most experience with Transformers prior to first watching it was with one of the animated series (It was a long time ago that I watched it, so can't remember which one it was; it wasn't Animated or the 1984 cartoon, though) but I have no positive memories of the second film and didn't ever bother watching the rest of the sequels that followed. And yeah, as yet another continuity, it figures that even new character traits from those films would be carried over into later/ongoing incarnations of the characters.
