Xenoblade was still 1 game at the time though, not 3 (4 if you count the 3DS port of XC1). That Smash marketing sure pays off. I'm sure Atlus is rolling in the new money they're making off of Persona 5 as we speak.

There's no reason not to expect Hero not dropping a few days after EVO if not today. Gamescom is pushing it and September is completely wack for a release.

As far as I can remember, all Smash 4 and Ultimate reveals have been in...

1. Nintendo Directs
2. E3 press conferences
3. The Game Awards

It's possible that we get something at Gamescom, but I think Nintendo is saving these announcements for bigger events, particularly the ones that are specifically meant for revealing new information to the public.

What if September 22nd Nintendo releases Hero when it's still techncially summer

Technicalities be damned bruh! (technically Sept 30th is the last day of Summer in the fiscal calendar).

Not to mention Hero releasing a month before DQ11S is good marketing on the part of SE in it gets people familiar with their character in advance. So players purchasing that game will be all like "hey it's that sword dude I play a lot in Ultimate!". Releasing in the same month isn't as effective marketing-wise.

Forgot about that one.

They did blatantly tell us that we would be getting a scheduled newcomer reveal for Robin though, and that's one of the few times they specifically told us about a character reveal in advance. I feel like that was mostly due to how little time they had left for reveals, and since they had run out of Nintendo Directs, they just slapped Robin's reveal in July.

Again, I'm not saying a reveal at Gamescom is out of the question, but Nintendo has been fairly consistent with how they handle their reveals. I feel like we go through this "Maybe we'll get a character at EVO/Gamescom!" song and dance every year, only to get an announcement for the date of an announcement at best.

With Thor 4 confirmed to be happening we’re probably gonna see Thor leave the Guardians at the end of GotG Vol. 3. I’m guessing he’ll probably meet Beta Ray Bill, and go off to adventure with him for some reason, which would lead to Thor 4.

Very true. It's tragic to see. I knew this would happen myself, and I know others predicted it as well.

They could, but unlike when they ran out of events leading up to Smash 4, I think, between probably two general Directs before Feb, the Game Awards, and maybe even a final Smash Direct, they'll have ample opportunity for their typical (and seemingly preferred) method of character reveal.

Who hates Ragnarok? You of all people seemed like one through relentless comparisons to Guardians.

I don't want to come across as repetitive but there's no way going through of it. I'll be as polite as possible.

My problem I had with the film was drifting away from its mythos and chasing to be like Guardians but 10 times the humor and a lack of drama and heart that Guardians 1 & 2 had. Love or hate the Dark World you can't deny that at least stuck to its mythology as that and the first film did.

As for Captain Marvel. I finally felt that superhero/MCU formula for once and it felt like any other generic superhero origin movie. I also hate how Nick Fury was over some "cat" (The way its approached pisses me off. If he were trying to save Goose or was fighting him I'd let it slide) and how it was revealed how he lost his eye which makes it hard to take the scene in The Winter Soldier as serious anymore. Plus I get feminism I do but you want strong independent woman look at Ellen Ripley in Aliens.

But hey to each their own though. Just agree to disagree.

Ragnarok was a half Planet Hulk and half Ragnarok comic storylines, which means they still did include Norse mythology, just not as much compared to the other movies that focused solely on Thor plotlines.

That said my only anticipated MCU films I look forward to are Guardians 3 and Doctor Strange 2 (Which if rumors are true should be out next year).
