NonSpecificGuy NonSpecificGuy Wademan94 Wademan94 xD Something crazy I decided to take as a challenge after watching some DS Streams while doing cleaning, like as it were Halloween themed. In this case, I decided to draw Silver cosplaying as The Nameless King from Dark Souls III. Lately, every time I saw that guy's crazy silver/white hairdo, I thought of Silver, and by the fact that both use Sword Spears (xD You know, when Silver's Sir Galahad.) and they are floaty. It's actually in full body. x'D But I don't think I am going to ink it/refine it. It's way too crazy. I was even planning to draw Blaze as Ornstein, but I think maybe for another time...my hands are dead.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, I went a LITTLE overboard with it. My initial idea was actually something more silly and simpler, but when I tried to draw Silver looking happy, for some reason it just didn't stick. I even changed the direction he was facing in the VERY early sketching (you know, the one that you start with a circle). xD And well, when I went full on serious, I couldn't stop. x'D But oh well, I did it!

So I'm having fun with Dark Souls but I am having a problem - I keep getting lost.

I remember an NPC telling me I had to go ring two bells, but I didn't remember exactly where he said the second one was and talking to that same NPC a second time didn't get much better instructions. After pestering him enough, he said down some stairs, so I looked around Fire Link Shrine and then headed down the only downward staircase I could fine there into the catacombs. After a lot of frustration fighting self-resurrecting skeletons I finally realized I was heading down the wrong area and had to look up a guide to figure out where I was supposed to go.

I always find myself getting lost in these types of games. I suppose there's a reason I'm rarely able to ever finish a Metroidvania to completion, as much as I really want to love them. I just don't have a good enough sense of direction for it and have to look up guides to keep from getting lost. And I really hate having to depend on guides to complete a video game.

Honestly despite all my progress in terms of drawing skill it still feels like I'm missing something super obvious that'll improve my drawing skill alot more than what I'm doing now. Like... all my stuff I draw doesn't necessarily look bad(especially now that I have somewhat of a artstyle down) but it feels like I just have one little puzzle piece missing and I can't for the life of me find it.

Have you looked up any tutorials?

It's probably practice.

There's really no simple trick to getting good at drawing. References and tutorials will help if you're having difficulties with one specific thing but this is one of those things you can only improve by doing it more and more.

Practice helps a lot as well, I wouldn’t be where I’m at if I didn’t practice.

My advice if you want to get better at art, you’ll need to learn how to break down what you’re drawing into basic shapes and see how they all fit together.
