Thinking of 2016 Youtube and how the whole SJW panic was going on. I unironically watched SJW Cringe compilations and... Milo Y (not spelling his last name). I think I unironically watched the Quartering and One Angry Gamer as well. Gotta stick it to the SJWs, because triggered libtards can't take a joke or something.




I am now currently left leaning, and my views align with democratic socialism.

Snake, you know the "Appealing to every region theory" was tossed out ages ago, right? Terry appeals as much to Japan as he does those prior 2 regions. Hell, Sakurai literally gushed about the Neo-Geo and KoF for 20 some odd minutes.

The first mistake is trusting the Smash community to be bright enough to do research and not... ya know, go ****ing ask the Japanese playerbase their opinions about characters.


Everyone said "Oh Banjo's a NOBODY in Japan." And yet, not only did Banjo Kazooie sell extremely well for a Western developed game, the duo was received generally favorably from online reactions.

I know there's a language barrier, but, c'mon.




Granted, this is the same community that has people in it who unironically think that Nintendo adding DKC to NSO is a super secret hint hint nudge nudge that Geno is coming as FP7 and only they get the hint...... I'm not kidding by the way, I ****ing saw that **** in the Geno thread like last night.

Maybe, but I wouldn't say my life was awful in 2016, but my views then absolutely do not align with my views now, hence why I'd punch myself. I did make some personal achievements that year that... for some reason I can't remember right now.

Hadokeyblade I only knew MegaMan from the NT Warrior anime and the Star Force games back when I was a child.

It was such that way to the point when I found out MegaMan was in this seemingly cool fighting game featuring Marvel characters I went to a MvC2 wiki looking for him... And got confused about the way he looked.

I legit thought he looked like a boy in pajamas, lol. It was quite funny.

I had the opposite. I grew up with classic Mega Man and was confused beyond belief seeing the Battle Network anime.

I don't think kids are very good at understanding alternate series, reboots, adaptations, etc.

For instance, I spent a fair bit of time trying to work out how Super Mario 64 connects to the SMB movie when I was young. Eventually I started to understand things but I started off just despising any version of a series that wasn't the one I was accustomed to.

Oh yeah, **** the earthquake theory in partucular. **** was mad disrespectful and made no sense to begin with, and then they acted like they swapped out the Isaac and Isabelle trailers when it wasn't Isaac, even though the trailer placement was intentional because it revealed a new AC game at the same time.

I can't believe people actually thought, "Yeah, this makes sense" after that, and this is coming from someone who WANTS Isaac in.

Sakurai has expressed there's a difficulty in working with devs overseas, and if rumors are to be believed, Banjo was acquired when Sakurai was in America, during E32018, he didn't make a special trip during his work schedule to Microsoft to pitch the idea of Banjo, he acquired the rights during E3 itself.


I just really can't imagine a whole, full-blown character like Freddy being added when there's reason to believe that "Overseas communication hard".

Tbf, it's definitely not impossible given the recent trend of western Mii Costumes, as well as the Shovel Knight assist that nobody thought was coming.

Personally feeling Neku, Sephiroth, Chrono and maybe Geno if we get more Spirit/assist promotions (he does have competence with Rayman and many others for that doh).

But overall I see a SEGA rep more likely than a new Square one not because of a company being stingy or silly claims like those, but rather because I feel there's a lot going for a possible new SEGA addition.

Yeah, I remember those arguments.

When the datamines came in I was constantly being positive that the DQ8 Hero would have a decent shot to at least be an alt of Luminary or Erdrick due to the western impact of DQ8, with most people going back to me claiming It was unlikely for silly reasons.

Thankfully I ended up not being in the wrong at all and actually called the reason he got added as an alt for the most part, which was quite satisfactory after many years wanting him in Smash.
