So, just to vent this out there a little bit I’m kind of upset about the whole anti-cop movement going around right now after a certain occurrence today. My cousin, his name’s Trey, one of the nicest dudes you’ll ever meet is a police officer. My little town is pretty quiet and the city just a town over he polices is also pretty quiet. He had only done a few parking tickets, a couple speed warnings (not tickets), and a single ticket for running a red light but he was about ready for lunch and... just because he’s a cop, even though he’s probably the nicest cop, the Taco Bell he went to just wouldn’t serve him. This was after he had sat in the line for 10 minutes because it was rather busy and ordered his food patiently. When he got up to the window they wouldn’t accept his payment and wouldn’t serve him his food. The dude really didn’t deserve that. I know a lot of cops are bad guys but humans still gotta eat and my cousin was just trying to grub on his break.

My cousin ended up getting a call just after leaving to investigate a disturbance and just didn’t get to eat today. So, yeah, I know this occurrence is very rare but it really hit me hard. He was just doin his job. It’s how he provides for his wife and kid. Cut him some slack, man.

Rant over, I guess.
I always find it incredibly aggravating when prejudice to one group just leads to prejudice against another. Sure there's differences here because one has to do with race, the other occupation but both are resulting with others facing adversity on the basis of popular belief or someone else's actions.

With current tensions in the world, I've just stopped visiting some websites because there's just too much vitriol. It was bad enough before when I'd see generalisations made of US officers to all police officers around the world. At least that wasn't widespread. Now I go places and all I see is, "ACAB, ACAB, ACAB" but not on the basis of the actions of all cops.

Hopefully things don't just calm down in the world but also improve.

I will say I think some shows work better with no true ending. A style of show where the heroes "go on to have more adventures" at the end can be very satisfying if done right.

But in a way, that is an ending. Just a different style of one.

Weirdly enough, the stories I'm most interested are the one's with the endings I most want to see.

That's just because the development of the story and the twists thrown in are so engaging I can't help but look forward to how everything comes together in the end.

Thinking about it, I think most shows I've finished have had some sort of conclusive ending. I think I prefer that to an ending where nothing changes; it makes it feel like everything was leading towards somewhere.

So, I randomly came across those weird text based memes, and may of found my most favorite one ever.

"The overall goal of golf, is to play less golf."

This quote just speaks to me.

I just randomly remembered how good Celeste's soundtrack is. I should go finish its postgame.

*Remembers the handcramps I got from how tightly I held the controller*

Actually on second thought I think I'll just listen to the soundtrack on Youtube.

Just to double check with the Poke fans here.

In Sword and Shield, the more you fight a certain species of Pokemon, the more likely it is to find a shiny right? And I don't mean like, oh yeah, with every encounter you get another chance to find one.

I mean, the more of a species you fight, the higher the rate of finding a shiny is.

I read that somewhere and I want to check if its true.

Yes. In the Pokedex, you'll find a counter. You want to get this counter as high as possible. There is a cap, although I don't remember it off hand. But yes, the higher it is, the more likely your chances of finding a Shiny are.

Does this work for any type of shiny or does it only work for wild battles?

Technically yes, but it's a horrible way to shiny hunt unfortunately. It only gives you a chance to get increased shiny rates with each encounter, capping at only a 3% chance to get a 1/512 shiny rate with the shiny charm. So even if you get a maximum chain of 500 pikachus, 97% of the pikachus you run into will still have normal shiny odds.

A lot of people think it's a glitch because it makes "chaining" almost pointless. May as well just MM.

Wait...

So let me see if I have this straight.

If I defeat 500 Pikachus, the "chain" won't affect 97% of the Pikachus I find. It will only have a higher rate for 3% of the Pikachus I find?

Uh wow. I'm currently hunting Shiny Bulbasaur and Honedge with the Matsuda Method and the Shiny Charm. I thought I could just farm Galarian Zigzagoon on the side. Almost sounds like it isn't worth it.

A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts.
But then again there is something to be said for looking up at the sky on a starry night, seeing all the tiny distant lights eons away, realizing that tens of thousands of years ago the people looking up saw basically the same thing, and thinking on all that which has changed since then while that sky has stayed virtually the same. I don't know about you, but it gives me a profound feeling.

Though I do agree they should just cancel the Simpsons.

Yep, it sounds like you're understanding it correctly. I have no idea why they programmed it that way.

That just seems horribly negligible. Like what's the point.

Statistically, how much does that help? Can't be much.

I think the only benefit to that is you can shiny hunt, while you EV train/get EXP.

So hearing that pokemon levels in the Isle of Armor scales is interesting. I wonder how that'll effect future games if they decide to keep it as a permanent feature?

Levels in Pokemon, like in many RPGs, is part of how difficulty is handled - if you want a challenge you can remain underleveled and if you're stuck on a part you can grind to brute force your way past it. Now imagine if the gymleader you're stuck on has a level 58 Dunsparce in a game with level scaling, for instance. So you grind your Shuckle up to level 60 to challenge it an oops, you just hit an invisible checkpoint and now that Dunsparce is level 68.

Now the way you could fix this is to have difficulty settings that change how level are scaled. Normal mode could try and keep opposing trainers at around the same level as your team, easy mode could make them underleveled and hard mode could try to make them higher levels then your team. But that's assuming Gamefreak would ever wanted to add actual difficulty modes to their games...eh, one can dream.

I don't think they will outside of potential future expansions.

That has happened in the Stadium games at least. Certain cup rules will cause the opponent's Pokemon levels to raise if your highest level Pokemon is above a certain level.

They did in Gen V but you had to unlock them (lol).

If I had to suffer/be amused coming across these blursed images, I’m bringing you guys with me:

How’s this for a tale as old as time?
The fact I’ve never seen such a thing until now is disappointing

Perhaps, but Sword and Shield feel like an experimental transition into an open world pokemon game in some ways, and the DLC expansions seem to be taking those experiments further. If they do ever decide to make a fully (or at least mostly) open world pokemon game in the future, leveling scaling might be something they decide to adopt for good.

That Gen 5 **** still makes me mad.

Wasn't it only ONE of the two games had the hard mode and the 2nd had a VERY EASY mode?

Like, what in gods name lol. If someone's struggling already, why do you think hiding the easy mode behind COMPLETING THE GAME THEY'RE STRUGGLING WITH is a good idea?

And it goes in reverse too. If I want a challenge, I have to basically play through the game entirely just for a slightly harder playthrough.

The difficulty modifiers were linked to a trade system. One game you could unlock easy, the other hard and you then you could give the keys to someone else through wireless connection.

In all honesty, linking difficulty to having to connect with other players is stupid.

I'll give Game Freak some leniency for your last point though because several other games feature unlockable hard modes.

Dang, and I thought having to trade to evolve Pokémon was annoying. That’s just pure stupid design.

I present for your viewing pleasure, the newest of Japan’s cup noodle commercials

This was the previous popular cup noodle commercial. I prefer this one personally

The first one looks like a propaganda poster goes Jojos Bizarre Adventure.

The second one has a guy who shouts Perfect Body and wears a packet of noodles.

Instant noodles is the greatest food of all time.

Yeah, this feels like something made for ARMS' anniversary. I don't think that this means anything for the ARMS fighter themselves.
"Sir, I think the fans would want something released by ARMS' anniversary."
